I just moved from New York to Houston, Texas about a year ago and have been having the worst experience with barbers week after week. Every week I get Zeeked (bad haircut) or these guys show up like an hour late to appointments. These dudes are so lazy and just suck at cutting hair. Has anyone had a similar experience and if so how did you overcome this????

Finding a new barber is the absolute worst! I used to just wolf it in the DMV until I could go back to my neighborhood shop in Queens. Luckily, I found a good spot after a few years  It's a bit of a drive from my place, but the barbers are on point (Kev's in Springfield, VA).

havin the same problem here.

seems dudes either misinterpret what i tell them i want or they just dont give a damn.

doesnt make a lick of sense to me especially since what i want is pretty damn simple.

have learned not to let dudes 26 and younger cut me tho. gotta be 35 plus or it aint happenin...

I went back to New York two weeks ago got the freshest shape up in history by my Dominican Barber.....i come back to Houston and I give this guy a nice template to work with and tell him how to cut it....this guy still manages to mess it up.

I may have to check this spot out which barber should I go to and what is the wait looking like. It is only a 30 min drive for me.

Use technology, specifically your phone. Instagram is a great resource to find legit babers. Use the tag section and #____ DMV barber, ot #houstonbarber. I've been in Baltimore for about 3 years almost and found legit babers through IG. They have to be tech savvy sorta and use correct tags but that's what IG is for. It's easy access to a barbers skill, and if their nice there work will be on IG most of the time.

I haven't got a haircut or shapeup in 3 weeks..last barber I went to was my grandfathers...the cat he recommend wasn't there and I ended up with some old head who went against the grain and cut my waves off..luckily my hair is trained so they came back without too much brushing...whats the name of the shop your boy goes too?

 I'm only laughing because I know that struggle bro. **** happened to be a few years ago, had a week old cut but I was starting a new job. My barber wasn't there so I was like it's just a shape up, nobody can't mess that up. How wrong I was, :smh:. This ***** did some **** that was unexplainable, now I'm starting a new job being introduced to all these people looking like a damn fool. Should have just stayed with the cut and kept it moving.

By the way before I came to Bmore I used to get my cuts on Utica Ave in BK, then I switched to a shop in LES. Mix of PR, and DR barbers all of them were nice. though.

Word, DMV barbers are some ****. Found a good one in Alexandria after a long while. MD shocked the hell outta me with the quality though, AND they wanna charge damn near 30 bucks.
