Simpsons Marathon right now on FXX 552 episodes update:Season 25

this marathon just shows how special and epic this show is.... hell just a few weeks ago ppl were talking how weak sauce the simpson is and how shows like south park etc... american dad futurama and what not trumped the simpsons easily. 

For as much hate as folks have been giving the simpsons.... easily none of those shows, hell you could combine all of those shows and they havent put out nearly as much classic and great tv and episodes as the simpsons have.

Granted it has its hit and misses along the way (with far more hits imo) but what do you expect for TWENTY FIVE yrs. The aforemention shows may have stayed on a few yrs.. and even in the short lived runs didnt have all quality great shows, and on top of that the simpsons was the premise and inspiration to most/all of them... And was there nearly a decade or so before them all, and has lasted nearly a decade longer then alot of those shows. 

This marathon just goes to show you how ppl just forget and skip past classics for nothing else then it isnt the hip/happening thing to watch be into, its not the latest new trend, or just cause something new and different has come along.
 
I'm in Simpsons overload. I had to take a breather yesterday and finally changed the channel...and I missed my episode :smh:
 
To me, The Simpsons are a truly unique show that I don't even consider the later, bad years to be apart of the same series. It's not the same thing as a show like Seinfeld or Friends or anything else, probably the most similar thing would be SNL.

true but even snl hasnt had a consistent cast and lets be honest it has far surpassed it hey day. Granted you had a few gems ala like tina fey, but the better half of the last decade has been meh....
 
I wish I had the energy to watch it straight through. I do remember this episode though. Having to go to sleep ruined this marathon for me

They could do a fan vote condensed marathon. Best 10 of each season or something like that.

I'm i the only one who is watching this then clicks the info (directv) then gets blown away at the fact that it says aired 2003 and I am blown away at me being 13 watching this heck the 1999 episodes had me reminiscing having no cares in the world and just finishing dinner and running to the tv to watch the Simpsons before foxla news came on :nthat:



Dam I'm sure I missed it but the fake Michael Jackson episode. That Lisa it's your birthday song :nthat:

I had the same reaction with the 90s episodes, thought they aired much later than that.

Yup, I don't remember too many episodes after '99.
 
I'm actually remembering more episodes than I thought right now... I'd say I'm still recognizing about 80% of the episodes.

I think another thing is I might have seen the episode once when it aired, but I never bothered with the repeats of the "newer" episodes.
 
I haven't watched "The Simpsons" in like five-three years. Just grew out of waiting every Sunday for a new episode.

1. Lebron's hairline....

This happens to me a lot. I don't realize how much I've seen until I see a repeat, or I'll remember a piece of an episode because most episodes has 2-3 things going on in it and I don't remember all of it. That's been my problem with this show for years.
