New Kid on the Block

Classic episode, especially if you had a thing for an older girl when you where younger. It was also written by Conan O'brien.

They're also playing another classic episode right now. Mr. Plow.

After Homer crashes the family's two cars.

Agent: Now, before I give you the check, one more question. This place
"Moe's" you left just before the accident. This is a business of some kind?

Brain: Don't tell him you were at a bar! Gasp! But what else is open at night?

Homer: It's a pornography store. I was buying pornography.

Brain: Heh heh heh. I would'a never thought of that.

When homer was in a band. With Wiggins, skinner and I forgot haha.

Classic ep

I was thinking about the Simpsons earlier this week. I find it somewhat strange that the show is still around in 2014. It's definitely a classic, the fact they're still pumping out new episodes is amazing, yet still seems so odd to me. It just feels like such a 90s show, that doesn't belong in this decade. It's pretty incredible that over 25 years later its still here, but something about it feels out of place.

I really wonder how they are going to end it. It's been around for such a long time it will be strange to see it go when they decide its time.

Here are some thoughts for the Final Episode....

The Power Plant shuts down, causing Homer to lose his job. Homer acquires a new job outside Springfield forcing the family to move. The episode ends with the happy family in their new house, Homer enjoys his new job , Bart and Lisa finally start the 5th and 3rd grade and everything ends happily ever after.

This is the safest kind of finale as it ends on the up and up while leaving the door open for the family to move back to Springfield if FOX/Groening were to ever decide they wanted to bring the series back at a later date.

Dr. Frink discovers that Springfield residents are stuck in some kind of time warp where they never age. This would explain why so many events have happened over a quarter century, but nobody seems to care. The Episode ends with breaking the warp and everyone rapidly ages. Grandpa dies immediately, Homer and Marge are post retirement age and Lisa and Bart are approaching their 40s.

Bart says "This sucks, I want to be a kid again" Marge replies "We all have to grow up sometime" Lisa says "What do we do now ?" Homer replies "We move on" then he winks into the camera. End.

The last episode could lead directly into the first episode taking advantage of the premise that nothing of significance has changed over the last 25 years.

A shot from behind their television shows the Simpson family watching TV. The only noise is the sound of flipping channels ie: Kent Brockman on the news, Krusty the Clown show, Itchy and Scratchy, McBane etc. The only moving animation is eyes blinking, snack eating, and maybe Santas little helper entering and leaving the room. This lasts nearly the entire duration of the episode. In the last 30 seconds of the show Bart says "I've got a great idea", Homer replies in his grumpier and less dopey season 1 voice "It's been over 25 years, just shutup." End.

A pretty regular mundane episode then the last shot pans through a tv screen cutting to a rear view of Fry an Bender sitting on the couch watching the show and saying "This show should have ended a thousand years ago".

If this show has any balls left, the final episode will revolve around the death of Homer.
