Last Monday, we at NikeTalk were privileged to donate $10,000 to the Equal Justice Initiative.
Founded by Bryan Stevenson, a celebrated human rights attorney and professor of law at NYU, the Equal Justice Initiative opposes the mounting inequities in the United States legal system and provides representation for those who have been denied fair treatment.
As the EJI describes it,
In 2012, his talk at the TED conference received the longest standing ovation in that organization's history.
The EJI has a stellar record for transparency and efficiency, earning a four star rating from charity navigator. In fact, Dr. Stevenson draws no salary from the organization, contributing to its exceptionally low administrative costs.
If you'd like to consider a contribution of your own, we urge you to visit them today at http://eji.org/
Since 2006, NikeTalk has contributed over $240,000 in advertising revenues to a wide array of vital causes like the Equal Justice Initiative - and it's all thanks to your continued support. On behalf of the entire staff, I offer you all my deepest gratitude.

As the EJI describes it,
Though the need for such advocacy should be apparent to all - particularly in light of recent events - few can convey its importance more passionately or effectively than Dr. Stevenson himself. We litigate on behalf of condemned prisoners, juvenile offenders, people wrongly convicted or charged with violent crimes, poor people denied effective representation, and others whose trials are marked by racial bias or prosecutorial misconduct. EJI works with communities that have been marginalized by poverty and discouraged by unequal treatment.
EJI also prepares reports, newsletters, and manuals to assist advocates and policymakers in the critically important work of reforming the administration of criminal justice.
