Look pretty solid to me.  Liking the support frame, forefoot zoom, heel lunar in phylon carrier should be pretty nice too.

Guessing traction will be good -- raised herringbone pods mixed with that wavy pattern that is on the XX9

They look a lot like the Jordan runner to me. That or a combination of the 6+7. I really liked the 7, and still feel like it's an underrated shoe, but I'm not sold on the look of this, at least not yet.

Liking the overall look of the shoe, looks like they are sticking with the mid-ish to low cut again. Standing by for the performance reviews to see how these are vs the old model.

I really like the 7 too.

Personally I have a good feeling about how this 8 will play.  If the fit is good, I can see myself enjoying this as much as, if not more than the 7.   The support frame -- at least at the heel is slightly reminiscent of the Kobe V, which made for one of the best rides ever.

Gonna be hard for me to pass up giving these a try.  The beauty of the cp3 line being underrated is that the discounts you can find are excellent.  Some of the best bang for your buck if you're on a budget and need a solid pair of hoop kicks

Completely agree, CP3's get discounted hard, and they really are a great guard shoe. Some of the best traction, and I was happy with the modulate set-up on last year's model. I am excited to see what's going on with the new upper, as that's definitely something that looks to have been improved upon last year's model.

I guess what we all could have really used was something like the "Bel Air" colorway right off the bat; Red/Black is obviously a classic Jordan staple, but it doesn't help distinguish a model like this form a lot of the lamer Jordan fusion, and lifestyle offerings. Definitely going to give these a shot, and am looking forward to grabbing another 7 on discount, I got the black Bel Air for $60 here in Canada(where the retail for the 7 was $165). Wish I could grab the camp on discount, seems like the only one that didn't hit significant discount. I hope they continue the camp theme on this model.

@kareem33  yeah the launch colorway doesn't do much to excite anyone -- the bel-air theme really worked nicely on the VII.

Some may not care for this, but what I like about this 8 is that it looks to build on good aspects from the 7 but in a sleeker, faster silhouette.  I have a feeling transition will be a little more fluid with these.  We'll have to see.

Must cop for me.

Last year's protruding podulon pods were a bit of a turn off for me plus the shoe was a little bit bulky, this looks way better.

Still debating if I should get cp3.vii for $80....and viii announced ...

the 7 is dope performer on court.. traction is a ++, step in comfotr is really nice even for wide footers like myself.. zoom bag in the front is nice and responsive.. only cons i have are is it's a bit on the clunky side and the tongue padding is a bit much.

Agreed that was a bit too much bulk on last year's shoe.  It didn't really play that way but I think this will solid

You could probably even grab some colorways even cheaper than that if you're still debating.  The VII is a solid shoe.

Otherwise hang on a little longer until Nov. 1... not too far out I guess

Local Champs "outlet" has the Blk/white bel-air. That's the only CW that I actually like tbh. I will probably play in these once and use them casually for going to Clippers games. The cheapest I've found with other CW are around $75.

These might play a little more like a guard shoe - I liked the CP VII a lot, and excellent value at some of the prices being bandied around now (don't think you can get a better pair of ball-specific shoes for USD70-80), but it never felt like a guard shoe - consistently felt a little bulky even though it wasn't particularly heavy. I got the original Bel-Air pair so perhaps the use of real leather played a part in that. Notwithstanding it is a CP shoe, I think heavier guys would actually go real well with the CP VII.

I'm a bit disappointed with the looks of the CP VIII  - the CP VII looked great, the looks above seem like a downgrade. Just a little bit too much like a runner for me.

Might go for the KD VII next in the quest for more "guard-like" shoes.

On a side note, considering how much the CPs get discounted on a yearly basis - I wonder if JB actually makes a significant profit off them on a yearly basis?

These colorways seem to be just a little bit off. I might consider going with Nike ID if the shoe is a good performer.

Looks like the last 3 models.
Will need better colorways, but I still see these as outlet fodder.

I do like the look of last years shoe, but from a playability standpoint I'm very curious to see if these are a pretty big step up.  They look a lot sleeker/lower to me.  We'll have to see
