Official CP3.VIII thread -- Release date November 1 -- Retail $130

Dunno, but I find the CP3 line to look great.  Best part like few members already posted is that no one seems to care nor like them so is easy cop on day one drops and discounts.

Shoe looks sleek and simple and not bulky like few others that are releasing this year.

Exactly.  I love that this line caters to a small group.  Not saying these are the best shoes out, but cp3s are definitely solid and an excellent value.  Very anxious to try these 8s on.

Can't say for sure until trying them on, but they do look a lot more sleek to me than last year's, as well as a little lower to the ground.  Yeah... the colorways we've seen have been nothing special but I'm sure some good stuff will come around.  If iD has anywhere near the options as the VII this will be great

These look like a downgrade compared to the VII. Looks wise.
Looks-wise, I agree.  Playability-wise, I will hold off until we hear more.  Have a feeling both the cushion setup and transition could be better on these VIIIs versus the VIIs.

As far as upper construction, it will be interesting to see if they go to leather or more 'premium' material for the AE on this model.

Both Melo and CP got bad shoe deals smh

nothing about these say anything about the player they were designed for

I disagree... if you check out any of the background vids on the shoe, you will see where they've worked in inspiration for CP3.

Also, if you've ever played in a CP3, you can tell that the setup is well-suited for his game.

Compared to previous i have to disagree. This latest pair unless the pics i saw are wrong do nothing for me. I can agree that they fit his style of play (never tried to argue this) but from a cosmetic point of view the vision couldve been executed much better.

Just my 2 cents

agreed.

even BG worked closely with JB on the Superfly 3 although it isn't quite his full fledged signature.

I'll give you that there may have been better inspiration that tied into to CP's life with the last model.  I kinda digged on the VII how he had a fake VIN number on the shank plate that had numbers/letters that corresponded to his family/children.  The details/inspiration always seem to be pretty subtle with his shoes, maybe he likes it that way.

Not horrible.

Just copped some 7s on sale to ball in on eastbay, so can wait for these to hit the sale section.

The CP VIII is now out on Nike ID. Pretty basic options so far but I'm liking the gold woven color!

According to nike.com and some overviews, there is going to be lunarlon in the heel, which sounds great. Last  year there was only foam.

Both forefoot and heel are nice, but if I can only have it in one place -- forefoot without a doubt
^this.

of all the shoes with heel zoom and forefoot zoom, i can never tell about the heel zoom unless they're a full-length zoom, but i do prefer the bounce effect the forefoot zoom gives in most shoes i've played in.
