Ferrari Sent Deadmau5 A Cease And Desist About His Purrari 458

Apparently Ferrari was none to pleased with the custom badges and associated floor mats on Deadmau5's 458 Italia Purrari. So much so that Ferrari North America sent the self-admitted button-pusher a cease and desist to have the custom emblems removed.

Deadmau5 (aka Joel Zimmerman) wrapped his 458 in a vinyl tribute to Nyan cat, running it in a few rallies and getting coffee with assorted celebrities and disgraced politicians before it went up for sale.

The wrap has since been removed and returned to its original vanilla flavor, and the customized "Purrari" badges – which are dead ringers for the standard Ferrari text – apparently went with them. Zimmerman doesn't say if the wrap and badge removal was because of the C&D or if it's just the next step in selling his 458.

thats a fun color for a lil girl. I dont see how ferrari could make him change it though

Ferrari has a strong legal team. They would have likely quagmired in court until he couldn't afford the legal fees anymore. He probably bent over so easily and quickly because this situation left a bad taste in his mouth he knew it wasn't worth fighting with them.

Ferrari is a pretty reputation for poor company politics. There's a reason that Jay Leno has over 200 vehicles to his name, yet he's never bought or even reviewed a Ferrari.
 
Ferrari has a history of stuff like this.

They'll refuse to sell you one if they dont like the look of you.

Thats not a race bait statement.

it being racist depends on the criteria for denial

In theory this is a good idea to keep your brand value/worth high (for a luxury brand)​

Yea...**** is crazy. However, for a company like Ferrari they clearly don't care because for every deadmau5 that gets pissed at company policy, there are so many other people who will adhere to their policy just to own their car.
 
I'm pretty sure he has another ridiculous wrap planned for the Gumball next year, interested to see what he comes up with and Ferrari's reaction :lol:

:lol: this is the same company that sells you a million dollar car and then keeps it in their possession, only letting you drive it by scheduling an appointment if they feel like it.
 
It wasnt the wrap guys. It was the replicated emblems. Im sure he coulda easily won n court if he simply debastardized their logo hah prob said eff it not worth the coin tho. Hell jus sell n cop the lambo to make look childish

Dude that owns Pink Dolphin has a colorful 458, dude still rocks out with it.

Nicky Diamonds has that Tiffany colored 458. Them dudes are fine.
