The child is slapping the **** out his mom. There is no reason to put your hands on another adult unless it's in regards to safety. You're right though, sad situation.

Kid looks about 11-12 years old. Seeing his mom high all the time, his friends probably knowing his situation finally got all that anger out.

All behavior is purposeful. The kid is yearning for attention as all kids do. Imo he's angry and frustrated in being neglected which I also feel is the root for his anger. We've got to overcome of the underlining issues to compress the ******** on top.

the real bad thing is what that's teaching the child in regards to his actions. He's probably seen others slap her before to get her to come out of her trance. So now he feels it is ok to do the same actions. It's such a shame to see these things. She was completely gone, with two dependent children in her care. At the same time the grown folks that were filming could've taken that same energy and comforted the little fella and his, I'm guessing little brother, and maybe working with the mother instead of just filming his trials and posting them for the world to see. I feel for him.
