Houston Texans Pre-Season 2015 - Hoyer's The Starter....By GAWD KING!!!

Fantastic news. Defense needs to hold teams to 14 and score on their own while the RBs sort themselves out. Grimes and Blue got the juice.

Good news though.

This is the first step in is going 0-16 and being able to draft a QB :pimp:

No deal for Pierre Thomas. Unless people still think Chris Johnson has something left (mentally and physically), we should just roll with Grimes, Blue, and Polk and keep it moving.

It really is disgusting how poorly the Texans have Drafted

I feel like Hal, Ballantine, and Blue can actually do something. Pagan will probably end up like Tim Jamison, very reliable rotational player. Previous years though, what an abomination. It's sad as hell how many players from past drafts aren't here. And not cause they didn't get the opportunity to shine, because some were flat out not good.

I was gonna say Hal and Ballantine look like serviceable players.

Unless Blue learns to read blocks, he's gonna suck.

KSHGFJHSKLFHSL cot damn Wilfork :wow:  the front 7 really should make up for any slack in the secondary, but I do feel like the secondary should be good. The concern will be the offense though, which I hate to say. Will need an enormous amount of turnovers to put the offense in good position to do things until they figure stuff out.

Nah the real reason Rick Smith is still around is because he's in bed with McNair's son, the heir apparent

Those who follow the Texans closely who live in Houston knows this.

LMAO  nah not the @Mister Friendly zest

In bed as in being a GOB. It's how he saved his job when he threw Kubiak under the bus when he got fired. He's airtight with the McNairs.

And I completely understand how non houstonians don't like jj watt after this first episode lol

@LanceZierlein: I set the JJ Watt camera time over/under at 12:30 and @MC790 said 10:24 was the official time. Seems low.

O'Brien, Texans work on "situational football"

Thursday's practice was different, and not just because it was inside.

The Texans spent the morning working on 'situational football'.

In the air-conditioned Houston Methodist Training Center, head coach Bill O'Brien and the team went through the day's work a little differently.

"Working more situational football, trying to help these guys understand the situation of the game

better, trying to help our coaching staff continue to be on the same page in the different situations of the game," O'Brien said.

Instead of going through the normal regiment of practice, O'Brien would put the offense, defense and special teams in situations they don't typically experience.

He'd call out a down, distance, and clock time, and the unit would have to react. Sometimes it meant stopping the clock. Other times, depending on the situation, it meant taking two shots at the end zone with a limited amount of time to execute plays.

“Coach loves that, coach loves situational football," receiver Cecil Shorts, III said. "That is what football is. There will be a lot of situations that come up in a game that he wants us to be ready for it so we were doing this even in OTA’s and stuff like that. It’s no surprise.”

The Texans will conduct a walkthrough practice on Friday and then play the 49ers at NRG Stadium on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. CT.

Knowing that Teddy B will be a good QB while Xavier Su'a-Filo is currently in a walking boot just makes me facepalm

Man I'm not even excited for this season. Does anyone else feel the same way?

With the front office, Bob McNair being stubborn about making changes, and the questions at QB ( and other areas) this just feels like a meh season. It's not even about being a fickle fan either, it's about being beaten down by this franchise. I'm glad I have the Rockets in this town ( 'Stros too now) :smokin
