Houston Texans Pre-Season 2015 - Hoyer's The Starter....By GAWD KING!!!

It's very fitting that Savage would get injured. I'm not sure how serious it is cause it only just happened, but still.

All the good things Charles James did previously seemed to wash out in this game. I wanna say that the Dallas WRs just made good plays, but idk, everytime a 1st down was converted, there was Charles James getting converted on. Tonight was also the first time I've heard Ballentine's man so much, and thankfully it was mostly good (outside of that terrible possession where him, James, Tuggle, and somebody else all missed tackling on that lengthy running play). Tuggle was everywhere, and hopefully he's able to make the team cause he has always been a solid rotational player here. I feel like there's still a lot of question marks as to who's in and who's out on several positions....WR, DB, and LB most notably.

 At Keshawn Martin making a play to save his spot on the team

This O-line.....ehhhhh....some holes were opening, and these were the backups, but it wasn't that good even with the starters playing. Also at this point, I feel like Chris Polk should start the season opener. Out of him, Grimes, Hilliard and Blue, he seems to have more pure speed/quickness than any of them, and simply more aggressiveness.

Will have the new thread up once the final rest is set in the next couple of days.

@taniaganguli: The #Texans have released Louis Nix III per @MarkBermanFox26 and @AaronWilson_NFL. That one surprises me.

Damn, I was pretty high on this dude before the draft and wanted BB to draft him. Guess you can't trust a DLinemen who wears any number less than 60 in college

Still not sure why we didn't call Ben Tate or Fred Jackson.

Le sigh.

Jackson yes, Tate no. Dude got hella fragile both mentally and physically, and started looking like Steve Slaton.

Nwachuku was also cut. Along with Labhart, and Kourtnei Brown |)

Is EZ still practice squad elgiable?

There was tough competition at WR this camp. EZ can play in the NFL it just given a chance.

I'm not sure if he's eligible. I actually thought he was on the active roster for a bit last year. Agreed though about his skills. Just seems like an odd man out. Stinks cause I hate the Martin is still here instead of other guys.

How the **** do you have so many bad drafts under your belt and still have a job is beyond me

By developing and embracing a culture of putting your homies on no matter how much they might stink. Joe Marciano should've been fired in like 2010/11, yet didn't get fired til like two days after Kubiak.

Next round of cuts

Latest roster cuts from Saturday, September 5:

Dan Pettinato, DE
Joseph Treadwell, OT

Roster cuts from Friday, September 4:

Chandler Worthy, WR
EZ Nwachukwu, WR
James Ferentz, C
Max Bullough, LB
Damaris Johnson, WR
Brandon Deaderick, DE
Kenny Hilliard, RB
Louis Nix III, DT
Matt Feiler, OT
Corey Moore, S
Kourtnei Brown, LB
Tevita Finau, DT

I'm sure Bullough, Hilliard, Brown, and Worthy are the immediate practice squad guys, and EZ if he's still eligible. I don't like the Damaris Johnson cut, especially since I still see Keshawn Martin on the roster. If you cut Damaris, you may as well have either EZ or Worthy on the active roster.

I'm surprised by that cut too, cause he was actually in the field for once. So much for the whole Wilfork mentoring thing. Just makes them look even dumber for being in love with Bottles and not going after Teddy.

At least the Texans actually have the balls to cut draft picks. I have to give them credit for at least trying to keep the better players

heard that Arian Foster may be back in early October, so he should be back around week 4 or week 5's Thursday Night game against the Colts
