The Sleep help thread Vol: I just want some Shuteye!

Melatonin works for me, usually take it an hour or two before I go to bed. It doesn't make me "sleepy" but it helps my mind calm down and not think about stupid stuff when.I'm trying to sleep. Also, try laying off the weed when it's time to sleep. I've been reading it bothers your REM sleep.

I think my main problem is that when it time to go to bed my mind wants to think about everything under sun

And I'm a belly sleeper face all up in the pillow no dambs given

Mild success last night
Got to sleep before 11:30 (got in bed aroud 10:15)

Woke at 4:30.

Need to add 1 more hr on that

Honestly though the benefits of marijuana are so abundant. It makes no sense why it's illegal. Im waiting for it to be the cure for cancer...

Do any of y'all workout? That's step #1.

Next is to have sex. Thats #2.

If that don't work, then after you've done #1 and #2 then have a glass of wine. Certified zzz's.

More and more I see have this issue of not being able to sleep when they want to (Including myself sometimes :smh: )

IMO it has to with how much light we expose our brains to and what not from our iPods, to our Computers, to our cellphones, TV's etc. Our brain from when we were first born connects light with being up and so since we have exposed ourself to soo much light during this technological age and what not, when we finally do shut those things off to sleep, we don't sleep when we are supposed to.

For me, If I get a good workout in a few hours before I sleep, it knocks me out cold. When it was really bad I used to drop a pill of Benedryl into some nyquil, and the sleep after I did that was INCREDIBLE   But I know that feeling all too well of wanting to go to sleep at a certain time and not being able to. I would suggest working out a few hrs before bed...that's all I got

It's only illegal in about half of the country. 25+ states have either decriminalized, or made medically and recreational use of marijuana legal. The states where it's still completely illegal are def in the minority and will be changing soon.

Drank like a quarter bottle of zzzquil before bed last night. Slept like a damn baby. Getting up for work was rough

Change your diet, stop watching tv before you go to sleep and smoke some weed. You'll have no problems.

Stay far away from any kind of sleep aid medications. Nyquil, tylonol pm.. you don't want that **** in your system.

OP,

I had the same dam problem for a long time. I slept less (2-4 hours a night) and when I did sleep, any little noise would wake me up.

At that time I was weighing 250 and my eating habits were beyond crazy. I ate burgers, pizza, fried food, caffeine right before going to sleep. When I was done, I'd go lay down because I was feeling lazy.

I had a hard time falling asleep, no matter how tired I was, I I could not sleep.

Then I began juicing (drinking natural fruit and veggie juices), eating right and doing some exercise.

Right away my wife and I noticed a huge difference in my sleep. My wife even said that I stopped snoring.

What Ive come to learn is that the more junk you eat, the harder your body works to digest while you sleep.

Caffeine was the worst.

Try this,

You usually have a set time to go to bed right? Well try eating 3-4 hours before that set time. For dinner, try eating some of the following, Grilled chicken with some veggies, salads, ground turkey, fish, fruit etc. And drink a lot of water.

After dinner, try walking around or doing some chores around the house. Help your body digest that food while your active oppose to your body digesting while you sleep.

If you're hungry right before going to bed, try eating , soup, cereal, eggs, yogurt, warm milk SOMETHING LIGHT. AND DRINK A LOT OF WATER.

For dinner, you should avoid the following red meat, deep fried chicken or any fried food, dough, soda or colored drinks and coffee.

I now weigh 210, I exercise a lot and eat the right foods. I eat some junk but I limit my self and I make sure I work it off.

Hope this info helps and I hope you get some sleep.

I had a tough time falling asleep before, but now I sleep with my ipod on low. Problem I'm having, I seem to wake up every night between 1-4am. Usually takes me about an hour to finally knock out again.
Thought it might be sleep apnea, so a doctor sent me to a sleep clinic, but they said I was fine :\.

Qft. Repped. Folks think just cause it's OTC that it's ok. Those sleep aids are TERRIBLE for your body and that **** can kill u. #smokeweedeveryday

Watch the stims after 5pm. I'd look into melatonin, kava kava, valerian, passionflower, GABA, L-theanine, or ZMA.

-pitch black room
-sleeping mask
-earplugs
-no electronics an hour before bedtime
-screw the melatonin (read up on it if you care about your health)
-look into binaural beats, i usually fall asleep listening to this while meditating

I've taken Melatonin. I cycle it one month on and one month off. IT's very safe to use but since your brain produces melatonin naturally, you'd wanna cycle it so you're brain regularly produces it. It helps regulate your sleeping patterns and improves the quality of sleep. It's not harmful at all in the doses that they provide. Not sure why people in here think otherwise, works wonders for me and doesn't mess with my immune system in anyway, and it isn't supposed to.

I use Onnit Melatonin with Lemon Balm exact. I'm out in 30 min. I try and sleep at 10pm on weekdays, so I take it at about 9:30 or 9:45. Usually kicks in in about 15-30 minutes. So make sure you're in bed already. It's natural and your body knows exactly what to do with it (because it's a natural occurrence in the brain), so it's alot safer than sleep aids.
