What do the dates on the shoe tag represent?

Hi all, noob here. Correct me if I'm wrong but the earlier date represents patented date and the later date is the manufactured date. If this is true, then all models should have the same patented date?

Not true.

They don't make all of one model shoe at the same time, so you will have varying production/manufactured dates for different pairs.

Also, it's not as uncommon as you think to have a pair of shoes that don't have the same production dates for each shoe.

I bought my '09 Space Jams straight from my local Footlocker and they have different production dates on each shoe. They are 100% authentic. I can take pics if you would like to see them.

I would be worried if the production dates are after when the shoe was initially released (i.e. 2011 Concord XI's with a 2013 production date). That's a big red flag.

Hope this helps!
