2015 NY Knicks offseason thread, Los Almighty appreciation thread

reading some of these comments makes me think you guys havent been watching college ball all season or you dont play ball at all. picking towns over okafor because hes more athletic? lol

Is it fair to compare Okafor to a healthy Brook Lopez?

I don't wat check college bball btw.

Okafor looks like he could benefit from another year at Duke. I think he's 2-3 seasons away from being an impact player in the league.

Is there anyone in here who has said that Justise Winslow is probably the best bet to take? His game translates the best to what the NBA game is today.

other than conditioning, Okafor is ready for the NBA.

19 years old with elite footwork and has every post move in his arsenal.

We By Far Want The Worst record, Who Cares ABOUT 14 Vs 16 wins. More pp balls top 4 pick guaranteed.

definitely need that top 4 pick...hell i'll even take top 5.

Towns, Okafor, Russell, Winslow, or Mudiay would immediately be starters from the second they're drafted.

harris is a restricted free agent, orlando is likely to match him.

idk how you can pass on two bigs with upside when we have no depth up front and aren't likely to be players for any free agent big men.

he's their best scorer, would be foolish to let him go. harkless isn't in their plans for anything, hell they tried to flip him for Acy.

There are several different scenarios to think of:

If we take Okafor, then you have to sign a 4 who can cover for him and Melo defensively.
If we take Towns, you can either play Melo at the 4 or sign a 5 and leave Melo at the 3.
If we take any of the guards (Mudiay/Russell) you have to either sign a 3/4 or 4/5 combo of players depending on where you play Melo.
If we take Winslow you either sign a 4/5 pairing or just sign a 5 and let Melo play the 4.

This team has plenty of holes in it. There's also a chance we don't address them all.

I wouldn't go after Love. He'd help out offensively but defensively we'd be TRASH. Love is struggling to play with Bron, I doubt he can fit in with Melo even with the Triangle. Harris if we go small would be good, he's pretty much Melo with much less talent and more hustle but can he defend? I'm more worried about defense more than anything.

I might be in the minority but if we get outside of the top 3 pick, I say we trade it who cares. Towns or okafur are the only guys I want for us

thats why we sign draymond :smokin him and melo can switch between 3/4 depending on who theyre matched up against. id rather throw money at draymond than any other FA.

I'm having a very hard time seeing any positives for next season. Is it just me? I know this is our worst season but we've been pretty bad for a while. The free agent pool is pretty underwhelming and I'm not really sold on anyone past Towns and Okafor. It's just really hard rooting for the Knicks, Mets, and Jets

you really are loyal... i mean you like all the bad teams in NY  but the knicks did win 2 chips unlike the nets
