2015 NY Knicks offseason thread, Los Almighty appreciation thread

The Fisher divorce is such a weird side story.

Coming in here all you would hear about is his ******* wife and he would instagram #WCW about her almost every week in addition to other social media mentions about "Lady Fish." Like a lot of these pro athletes have wives but kind of keep them out of the lime light but Fish wasnt one of them. IDK how closely yall follow him on social media and **** but he would make it abundantly clear regularly that he was married and loved his wife and I remember her even being there and him giving her a shout out about her being supportive when he took over as Knicks coach during his introductory press conference.

Now next thing you know, she is gone. Seems really sketchy, that is all. I feel like somebody ****** up and cheated here.

And honestly I think I am happy about it. I mean obviously it sucks to get cheated on but either she is a ***** and cheated or he did, but regardless hopefully this will lead Fisher to just start slaying randos all around the city and just become an absolute mad man who starts to focus all of his attention to basketball and becoming the greatest coach the Knicks have ever had.

You cant do that **** with a wife bringing you down and ****. I could see "Lady Fish" being all on his case about making her leave LA for NY and then barely paying attention to her and focusing way too much on basketball. I could just envision all the nagging. "You never pay attention to me anymore." "Why dont we ever go out for dinner." "You never want to have sex anymore because you are watching game film all hours of the night."

Im sorry but **** that *****, that is the last thing we need right now. I want fish married to basketball and the Knicks and nothing else right about now. You think after an entire season spent around the Knicks, his unhappy wife is going to be cool with Fisher going to Cleveland and Chicago to scout playoff teams like he said? Or attend pre-draft **** with Phil Jackson?

Hell ************* no. If a happy marriage has to be the sacrifice for the Knicks to win a championship, I'm sorry but so be it. This situation is much bigger than "Lady Fish" could handle. I could handle Melo and the players spending their offseasons traveling Europe with their wives, but not our head coach. That just aint gonna cut it for Fish. Im sorry but this is what he signed up for.

We need Derek Fisher to take on the work ethic of Jeff Van Gundy after 6 cans of diet coke and a 80 mg of adderall. That is the kind of focus we need for the Knicks to turn the ship around. I want to see those bags under his eyes, the 5 oclock shadow, the whole shebangabang. I want to know that if the Knicks ARENT winning, it sure as hell isnt because of a lack of effort of Fish's part. If Lady Fish cant handle that than best cut the ***** loose right now. Perfect timing.

Basically im hoping Fish can pull a Rory McElroy out of this situation, and make this divorce will be the best thing that has happened to the Knicks in the last decade

Breen has been with the Knicks so long though  but I HAVE to believe he is dying to get out of his Knicks contract.

Daddy Dolan probably signed him to some unbreakable lifetime deal in order to give him his big shot back in like 1992

It's no secret the Knicks have eyes on Pistons forward Greg Monroe

Maybe the worst kept secret in the NBA is that Phil Jackson plans to pursue Detroit Pistons forward Greg Monroe in free agency this summer. In fact, one league executive called it “about as close to a done deal as you can get.”

A done deal is illegal of course and would open Jackson and the Knicks to tampering charges. A more likely scenario is that representatives from both parties have made their interest known and will proceed accordingly once the free-agent recruiting period begins on July 1st. It happens all the time.

Still, the talk among scouts and executives who attended the Portsmouth Invitational is that Monroe is Jackson’s primary free-agent target. It’s easy to connect the dots; Monroe’s agent, David Falk, is one of the few agents that Jackson has a relationship with going back more than 20 years when Falk was representing Michael Jordan. Falk is looking for a max contract for Monroe and the Knicks, coming off the worst season in franchise history, are happy to oblige.

And don’t think it is just a coincidence that Jackson’s long-time friend, Charley Rosen, was recently quoted saying that Monroe is the perfect triangle player. If the Knicks were to win one of the top picks in the NBA Draft Lottery they would be in position to select either Kentucky’s Karl-Anthony Towns or Duke’s Jahlil Okafor. A frontline of Carmelo Anthony with Monroe and Towns or Okafor is, needless to say, a slight upgrade over what the team has been putting on the floor for most of the season.

Of course, Rosen also said that Towns, a terrific athlete, worker and thinker, doesn’t fit the triangle because he does not possess, how can we say this, Kim Kardashian-type assets. So when Jackson tells you not to make too much over the triangle just remember this; behind the scenes Jackson is always thinking about his beloved triangle.

Despite having never appeared in the playoffs, Monroe is an upgrade. And if he joins the Knicks, Monroe would be the latest in a long line of former Georgetown players to wear the orange and blue. Former Hoyas Patrick Ewing, David Wingate, Othella Harrington, Jerome Williams, Dikembe Mutombo and Michael Sweetney all had varying degrees of success (and failures) with the Knicks.

If we sign Monroe we better draft Towns or go after Amir Johnson/Draymond in free agency. Swear to God, Allah, Buddha, Shiva and whoever else you can think of.
