david lee doesn't pay my rent

Ok, I get the "Bronx Tale" reference

But at the end of the day you are still a Knicks fan. You are still emotionally invested in the New York Knicks, for better or worse. David Lee is as good as a Knick and as much as a "consummate professional" as we have seen in  our life time (I know that you are around my age, so this is true).

The dude did everything he could to improve himself during an era of Knicks basketball that was ******* dogmatic in terms of player development. David Lee always went out and busted his *** for us and was one of the few modern players who represented what it should mean to be a New York Knick.

I would be rooting for the Warriors regardless. The Warriors became my 2nd favorite team the moment that they signed David Lee because of all the respect I had for Lee as a Knicks fan. Like I said before, I root for any ex-Knick that played for the "NEW YORK" on the front of their jersey while they were here, despite their flaws as players. David Lee is near the top of that list. JR is bottom 3. Lebron, I just ******* despise as a Knicks fan AND a basketball fan. I also grew to LOVE Steph Curry during that time. But the fact that they are playing "Baby ****" Lebron and "mental ******" JR? **** that. **** the Cavs and **** weak *** Cleveland. Go Dubs.

It is one thing to say that you arent rooting for the Ws. I get that. But to say that you ARE rooting for the Cavs? Questionable. Maybe David Lee doesnt pay your rent, but does Lebron?

i just like great storylines. not like i'll be upset if the warriors win  put it this way if the cavs win, i hope it's from mozgod killing it.

Swear to god Melo is someone laughing. Never heard he needed more help playing against Indiana by himself in the playoffs where no one else could buy a damn bucket. Only thing I heard was that he wasn't a "leader" and "didn't make his teammates better". If young talent like JR and Shump played with someone like Lebron they would be great role players and max out their potential. Or or what about the fact that they play with Lebron they would take basketball more serious especially JR he'll no longer make so many bonehead mistakes

If I recall correctly, Gr8, you were one of the biggest advocates to ship Lee out because you felt that he wasn't worth the max or however much he was asking for.

I'm just wondering where your sudden love and obsession came from and why you wished that he never left the Knicks, etc.

JR ALMOST had a great game, but he's always been hot and cold. No matter who shump and JR play with, they can't be relied on when it really counts. A la the pacers series.

It's just the hype around Lebron man. They're pretty much playing exactly how they did when they were wearing the orange and blue. The Lebron effect is sickening bc it's not like either of them all of a sudden became a 20 point per night scorer. The difference is that Cleveland was winning, so it made it seem like they were playing so well.

I UNDERSTOOD getting rid of Lee in 2010 because I supported Donnie Walsh and what he was trying to do. Being a big "advocate" is the wrong use of word. I didnt necessarily support getting rid of Lee. Its not like I was some sort of hater who wanted him off the Knicks in the way I wanted Eddy Curry off the Knicks, but suddenly changed my thinking. That just isnt the case at all. Lee and Nate were always my 2 favorite Knicks growing up. I would have LOVED to keep both of them, but I accepted the inevitability that both of them were leaving in 2010. Because I knew that was what Walsh was thinking and I supported Walsh and his vision.

Like I said, I was very happy to have a plan in place, unlike for the majority of my life as a Knicks fan. I was happy to have somebody in charge who knew what the **** he was doing. And I understood what the plan entailed. Spending big dollars on David Lee was never part of that plan. It definitely broke my heart a little bit, but everybody knew that him and Nate were out the door.

Sure, we can play the role of "in retrospect analyst" and look back and say we should have kept Lee instead of signing Amare, which I did do myself, and **** probably would have played out better for us. But that is all it is. Thinking "in retrospect." I am man enough to admit that. Any talk of resigning David Lee for 6 years/$80 mil instead of handing the max to Amare after missing out on all the other major 2010 Free Agents would have been deemed crazy talk at that time. An utter failure. I was 100% behind signing Amare at the time. I thought the Knicks needed a big name because that is all I had been hearing about for the previous 3 years, and I was wrong.

But all that is irrelevant. I have always loved David Lee. Still have his jersey. I remember being at his last game at the Garden in 2010 with everybody in attendance all but certain it was going to be his last game and chanting his name at the end of the night after another record setting double double. Underrated moment in modern Knicks history.

There is no "sudden love and obsession." I agree, that me "wishing he never left the Knicks" is just me looking back and playing devil's advocate knowing what I know now, but I fully admit that is all it is. Like I have said, I always try and level with yall when it comes to the past. Too many people try and act like they were so much ******* smarter than everybody else in the past. I ******* hate that and that is not what I try to do. If I was right about something I will always admit it but I will come clean when I was wrong as well.

Lee and Nate were my 2 favorite Knicks growing up, and the Warriors (and whomever Nate has played with) immediately became my 2nd favorite team in the summer of 2010. Because I support 99% of ex-Knicks. The only ones I dont support are the inconsiderate bums like Eddy Curry and JR. I supported Chandler, Prigioni, Moz, Shump, and even Amare this season so obviously I am going to really ******* support dudes like Lee and Nate. Regardless of whether or not I was able to accept them leaving the Knicks in 2010. And then over time I started to love Steph Curry as well, mostly due to a Heat game I attended in 2012 when I watched him play live for the first time and he lit them the **** up.

I didn't want to see Lee leave, but no point in bringing him back now imo, unless maybe for the lo-lo...

theres no point in bringing him back period. he still has one more year on his contract and will probably resign with GSW for the low. hes not coming back.

i was so against dropping lee to sign amare.  i remember getting killed in here for it

Report: Sixers won’t let Towns, Okafor or Russell fall to Knicks in NBA Draft

The majority of mock drafts (including ours) are in agreement in projecting the top three picks.

The order in which these players are selected may not be set, but the expectation is that Karl-Anthony Towns, Jahlil Okafor and D’Angelo Russell will be the first three players taken (in some order) by the Timberwolves, Lakers and Sixers.

It has been speculated that scenarios may unfold which would allow one of these players to fall to the Knicks, who are sitting behind Philadelphia with the fourth overall selection. It would have to involve Russell sliding into one of those top two slots, and the Sixers then theoretically passing on Towns or Okafor due to already being loaded with frontcourt talent.

The latest report, however, says that even if the top three picks don’t go down as expected, the Sixers are locked in to taking one of those three players.

Marc Berman of the New York Post:

According to a league source, the Sixers, who pick third, still have a firm Big 3 of Karl-Anthony Towns, Russell and Okafor and won’t let any of the trio slip to Phil Jackson. Despite their young, marquee depth up front, the Sixers would take Okafor even if it’s to collect an asset to trade later.

Speculation that Russell is trying to avoid being picked by the moribund Sixers escalated when he canceled workouts with them this weekend. There also were rumblings that perhaps the Lakers, after working Russell out, had given the Ohio State combo guard a guarantee at No. 2. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported he was just “real sick’’ and a Sixers workout could be rescheduled. Russell has told reporters he also has agreed to work out for the Knicks.

There are, of course, other ways that the Knicks could land one of these three players.

Kristaps Porzingis is beginning to be a name mentioned as possibly going top-three now, and Emmanuel Mudiay is at least a threat to potentially rise into that group, as well.

But if things go as planned, New York will have to turn its attention somewhere else.

i guess theyre not that high on muddy after all :smokin

lee's contract is 1 year longer because it was a sign and trade right? yeah i much rather have still signed amare. got us under the cap a year earlier.

I think if STAT would've/could've stayed healthy, that he could have been a monster for us. I know people are going to disagree with me, but I think he could've been better than Lee. Injuries robbed him. I'd take him off of the bench for the low right now because he'll soon be a free agent. Just my two pennies.

STAT was the right choice. You guys just got hit by really bad luck with him.

You can even look at this year, they became the same player. Guys off the bench, and Amar'e still played better.

Injuries just robbed him.

I also think that it is worth noting that Melo and STAT were never able to work out together. Although I think a major reason for that was the Knicks trading Felton and being left without a capable PG to make it work.
