Lol so you mean to tell me a company as big as nike (currently worth 16 billion) can't SIMPLY take some updated pictures of the actual product that's releasing? They don't have the time and resources to properly provide the consumer with correct information? Hell they could overnight me some frags and a camera and I will get them some properly done official pictures before I lay down for the night... come on man

ain't noone going back. take the photo you got and move on. this is how retail is when you work for a large corp.

because once you take the photo, it would have to go up in proof rounds and get approvals all over again. it's really not worth the work to fix a black bolt to blue. there are tons of examples where the completed product differs slightly from the sample.

could they send the shoe to you to get an updated photo? yeah. but will you throw it into their proofing system and ensure that the proper stakeholders will go through and approve a few images because the insoles or the fragment logo is a different color? you're gonna hound them to make sure the heel logo is proper? it's a waste of time when they have tons of other items in their queue and you have a never ending pile of photos to take.

You're not even making sense my dude, it's really a huge ordeal to do some new professionally done pictures? Take the photo that we got and move on? It's not even the shoe we are getting... foh with your foolishness. It might of been costly for your catalog company but NIKE could easily get it done :smh:
 
I have an extra pair of 88s. Id trade those plus $100. Not sure if that would be enough. Only got the 88s as trade bait and they are an undervalued shoe in the Chi (I have no attachment to this colorway). Whenever I try to post them in a Chicago fb group the best offer I get are the Gammas or the Chicago 1s.
send em to flightclub, they only have 6 pairs according to their website

you need to understand the red tape of bureaucracy. for a large company, something that seems small takes at least a week or two to complete because of the formal process involved.

if you have no experience working in marketing, you're not going to understand.

He's right.  It's not as simple as snap a photo and upload it.  Any customer facing photo or communication has to go through different levels of approvals and sign offs before they are green lighted to be shared.  This process in itself isn't difficult, but can be a pain in the *** getting everyone who's required to sign off.

Then as he said, you still have a number of other images in the pipeline scheduled with the photographer, branding, marketing, etc. etc.. not as easy as you make it sound.

na its not about saying sorry.  Just trying to explain it to you that there are a lot of hands in the pot that need to agree on something before it gets done.  To get a picture uploaded you need to do a few things (off the top of my head)

1. Schedule the photographer - keep in mind they have other projects they are assigned to

2. With the photographer you also have the folks who set up the shoes and overall creative design

3. Once the picture is taken they need to edit the photo - don't think these are untouched photos on nike

4. Once the picture has been edited you need to get the sign offs and approvals you need.  Typically these people would be the project manager, web team, retail, marketing, branding, creative etc.

5. Once the approvals are all received, you can then schedule the IT work to have it uploaded.

sounds simple but it just takes time and takes time away from whatever is next on the to do list
 
One of my boys works at Bodega, saw him wearing these the other day. Now I need them in my life. 

Don't wanna do mad work for them tho. But after Christmas everyone gon be broke, and Kanye never wore these yet, so I'll just cop them online from NDC.

Should be no problem right?

understand that this is not a diss at all directed towards you. it's a different world when you're actually in it. sure my company isn't 16 bil (we're a fraction of that amount at 3 bil), but i would figure that the process is very similar.

some things that should be simple and easy aren't actually easy behind the scenes.

Agree. Bigger the company the more red tape. Like at Verizon where I work, i have to wait for a two week approval just to update frigging browser software on my work lap top.

And bottom line is they will sell out whether they change the photo or not. Everything gets ranked by priority and this would not be high on anyone's list.

Their IT is and should be working on "critical" issues like their website crashing.

The XQ's promo photos had them with a leather tongue. My actual pair has a fabric tongue. Not unusual for actual pairs to be different from photos.

I dont live in NYC. You can just send it to them?

Anyway I try all my kicks on for size. Including removing the hangtag, which I still have. then I put em back in the box until I need em. So if they only take factory laced shoes Im outta luck.
