Getting yanked or dunked on?

So, in other words, neither getting dunked on or getting crossed is a bad thing.

Lock it up.

None of the above..

But honestly I've been balling for 10+ years and me and my friends still talked about when "dude" got dunked on!!

Got dunked on by some Opie looking dude in intramurals. My team turned the ball over, dude was on the wing and I back pedaled and stayed on him. Thought he was gonna lay it up and got yammed on. I didn't think he was gonna do it. Hell, I can't even jump but getting dunked on when expecting a layup is something else

I'm pushing a ***** out the air if he tries to dunk on me.

Straight up.
That's a dangerous dirty tactic man. Bruce Bowen sticking the foot underneath the jump shooters foot status. Seen the homie get his arm broken after someone tried something like that. Momentary embarrassment isn't worth the doctor bill you might cause...

Bruce Bowen :pimp:

I love playing dirty, trash talking and getting under people's skin. Real life troll status. If i don't make you want to fight me then I'm not doing my job

:pimp:

depends on the position you play imo
if you're a guard the last thing you want is getting crossed up, and if you're a big dude you don't wanna get dunked on.
i think op should've changed it to getting dropped to the floor vs getting dunked on though, that would've made more sense.
me being a ball handling type, i would take ANYTHING besides getting dropped. thankfully i never have been, but have been crossed up where my legs feel like jelly after :smh:
i can speak on shaking and dropping dudes with the handles though and that's straight demoralizing and leaves them shook the remainder of the game. almost felt bad sometimes.

Getting crossed over is, without a doubt, the most demoralizing of the two options. Just ask Antonio Daniels when his ankles snap, crackle, popped after Iverson's double cross :x :smh:

I've seen cats crossed and been crossed myself don't remember any of em.

I remember every single time I saw someone get yoked on that **** is horrible

Seen my boy get destroyed once, dude threw off the glass to himself and it was a crime scene after that

I don't know how this is even a debate, getting dunked on is way worse. :smh:
Throughout a game you'll see someone get crossed every other play due to mis matches on good ball handlers.

Came dangerously close to being dunked on my senior year of college. Big center posted me up, spin move and all of a sudden I am right underneath him eye level with this mans testicals and he gets hung on the rim. I was so relieved it was literally slow motion but luckily he got hung, the amount of power in the miss had people gasping.

Agreed. Playing pickup ball at my local gym I see people getting shook on a regular basis. The "Ooo's" and "Ahhh's" are 10x's worse when someone gets dunked on though.

Naw man, there's getting shook off and then there's getting CROSSED, meaning you're looking the wrong direction, legs all tangled up, you never want to defend that guy again. There's a huge difference

If I rip your ankles from underneath you, and then miss the shot, it won't matter during the game.
But when the game is over...

nah that **** lame as ****. you knock me out of the air, you better kill me b

Never been dunked on.
I'm too tall to get bodied like that

I've been crossed, but not to the point of falling, or even being confused, I just stopped moving entirely to avoid it. I'm pretty passive on defense.

If I ever get yambed on in public, ESPECIALLY with women around

this gif.

Chase down attempts aren't that bad...

And y'all are referring to the most extreme dunks and comparing them to mild crossovers.

Top 10 ESPN during basketball season, someone gets dunked every night.

But hitting someone with the pit pat until they fall or knees buckle...

Then lighting them up with the jumper or sweet layup...

Can't match that...

And what makes the MEAN crossover more rare is you have to completely throw out all the stepped on foots, running into screens, shoes have outo.

VERY RARELY is it a TRUE bake + finish...

Dunk faces happen all the time... Especially when you're playing with atleat college level athletes.

I got dunked on once but i aint care i'm 6 feet and dude was 6'6" with long *** arms

I almost got floored in the worst possible way tho I was guarding some short blazing quickness kid and when he crossed over I felt all my weight moving behind me like I was gunna fall straight on my back  thankfully that didnt happen and it didnt even look like I chopped.

I also hate when your playing transition d and you run towards the ball and the ballhandler does a weakass change of direction but since you were running almost full speed they get by you and the bumbs on the sideline gunna oo and ah like thats not the easiest way to get by people

Yeah that sh*t don't fly with me either. I've gotten up swinging once or twice from dirty plays like that. One of the main reasons why I don't try to dunk on people no more. It's some dirty *** players out here.

I'm getting tossed for a flagrant before anyone dunks on me

Srs
I mentioned the story earlier of how my homie got his arm broken playing with guys of that mindset. Being competitive and playing hard is reasonable. But to blatantly attempt to hurt someone while they are in the air is some foul ****. Another time I was hooping and it was on a lower than normal court. Probably nine and a half instead of ten feet, also a portable court with the wide base...catch my defender slipping and gave him the baseline facial. :x next fast break I go to the rim...he shoulder charges me mad cause I bashed on him and I fall on the base destroying the ligaments in my ankle. It's still not the same to this day, doctor told me I was better off breaking it. Couldn't walk for a week and he honestly made me stop playing for almost a year cause it took forever to build up the strength in my ankle again. But y'all are all tough guys when people are defenseless in the air so it probably even wouldn't make a difference on the way y'all play ball.

Along with people who push people out the air when attempting a dunk. I also dislike people who put their feet under yours while you taking a shot. For either not knowing how to play basketball or just not happy with getting that business done to them.
