I like it. I've always like Miatas though...wish my girl would buy one

Tail lights aren't great though

Really digging this generation.  Looks like a cross between a Jaguar F-Type, BMW Z4 and a Honda S2000.  Interested to see how it looks with the PRHT.

Copped x 3

Is it me or has this car looked the same forever?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There is a HUGE unity of Miata fans. Mazda is smart enough to know better.

Wish I could pull one off. :frown:

I absolutely love Miatas and this one is no different.

I gotta see how I fit in it before I'd consider it. I just want them to make a Mazdaspeed edition that's turbocharged, hardtop, stiffer suspension, and bigger brakes.

Always been a fan of Miatas, this looks awesome!

People always call it a girls car, but of the Miatas I've seen on the road, 90% are dudes.

What makes it a girl car? The size?

Im a fan of the miata as well, a have a few friends who drift them. Many Americans will call it a girl car since in their eyes a mans car = huge + v8

I came in here to ask why you even made this thread, because we all know what the Miata looks like.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Not bad Mazda, not bad....

Ever since the announcement of a rwd coupe by Toyobaru that turned out to be the FRS/BRZ, the new Miata has garnered high anticipation among enthusiasts as it is the one that most believe could compete.

It also helps that the current gen Miata is old and f and hella outdated.

Looks like Nissan or Honda has no answer for the Toyobaru at the moment/near future so the new Miata is the answer/alternative many are waiting for.

oops, beat me to it. But here's the quick points from that link.

2,200 pounds. That's roughly what this car will weigh if we can take Mazda at its word that it has managed to cut over 100 kilos – 220 pounds – versus today's NC Miata. Given that this car will almost certainly be safer, stiffer, better equipped and more refined, that's incredibly impressive engineering. In fact, that's lighter than an NB generation car.

First Impression: The new car looks incredibly compact yet sinuous, with tightly snubbed overhangs what designer Derek Jenkins called an "impossibly low" hoodline - impressive in this day and age of pedestrian crash regulations. Largely free of adornments, I think this is a shape that will age well.

While still looking like a proper MX-5, this ND trades some of its predecessors' occasionally cartoonish and friendly rounded lines in favor of something more aggressive.

Piercing stare from those small, lightweight LED headlamps contrasts with its large lower air intake.

Profile is clean with almost zero character lines but nice barrel to the doors and fenders, with prominent J-kick to doorline retained and better rear-drive proportions thanks to a more harmonious door line/rear wheel relationship. Fender-resident side lenses are a nice design detail that add visual thrust.
