Legendary Comedian Joan Rivers dead at 81!

Rip 1933-2014
I personally love controversial comedians &
Not only did she throw punches she could take them as well

^
She ethered so many people on that show. Funnier than the majority of people on tv.

wasnt a fan of her. hated her show. talking **** about what people wear? mind your own damn business

R.I.P.

Was not a fan of her work but it doesn't take away from the fact that she was a human being who was known publicly and probably provided some of the best medicine available, Laughter.

I wouldn't expect the younger generation to know much of her work or respect her but she broke down so many barriers for women in Comedy.

Wouldn't get worked up over freedom of speech by anyone, but towards the later part of her career, her main objective was just to criticize everyone while her daughter played little 'angel neutral'.   She then grew into that person.  Constantly attacking, and it was tiresome.  She shouldn't have done plastic surgery, but it's just sad to see the generation of stars and celebrities pass away while we are left with copy cats.

R.I.P.

I never watched her stand up but I always found her hilarious whenever I caught her on tv doing the fashion police show or on a late night talk show.

Never cared about celebrities but I always thought it was ironic how she made fun of other peoples appearances but yet had tons of surgery on herself.

Never thought that type of "comedy" was funny either. People roastin others just to get chuckles have never been cool to me in real life or on TV.

RIP though.

^ THIS right here. thats not even comedy to me when have to roast someone to get laughs and props. shes 80yrs old and the last thing she needs to talk about is fashion. like she has much of a choice on what to wear smh

Dude...have you seen what is on TV? Jersey Shore, Love and Hip-hop, Kardashian show.....I mean TV is just stale to begin with. Joan just capitalized on it and even at 81. All these people on TV we see today won't even be around at that age. Joan was relevant and actually put in work. I loved the irony when she appeared on Nip Tuck. She totally just made fun of what she did to her face.

I heard herd documentary was pretty good. Kind of showed the hard work she put in even if it was QVC stuff or whatever: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1568150/

I watched this on Netflix last night. She had one hell of a work ethic.

This

This new era of comedians, don't get me wrong there are still gems but man idk. True comedy seems to be dying just like the comic book industry and a bunch of other things that are dying in the new millennium.

Jump on the merry go round

round a few times

jump off and someone else jumps on

that's life

RIP. Joan Rivers was always funny to me. Really enjoyed her sense of humor.

Sorry if this or some variant was posted already..

Another one bites the dust

This is really funny because Joan would do/say the same joke.

Always felt she was a racist as well. But no ill will from me. So r.i.p.

she was 81 and she came from the era, but who the hell knows. I could see her being a bigot, but at the end of the day she never really rubbed me wrong. I just feel like she felt people were too sensitive and said things to shake **** up. I miss the days of the Sanford and Son, All in the Family and the Jeffersons.

That she did, I looked at a lot of her older stuff from the 60s and 70s. She had me laughing.

The one thing I caught in her documentary that was blatantly racist was when she asked her staff whether or not she should tell this joke, thinking it might be too much. It was something like, "you remember when JFK was president and the first lady was referred to Jackie O...I wonder if Michelle Obama will be referred to as Blackie O" :x :smh:

Her staff immediately cringed and told her not to tell that joke.

I probably would've chuckled at that joke, depending on her delivery

But she lived a good life, so rip

Honestly, I'm laughing at that right now . I could see her face like "did I say something wrong".

That should really be taken lightly. Come on.....we have Russell Peters calling some asian dude "Tap Some Bong". I mean it's all jokes....and even if it is sort of racial, that is the point.

I am a huge Howard Stern fan. This was a audio for Howard's birthday bash where Jeff Ross and Joan roasted Howard and his staff. It's all racial humor whether it be towards Robin being black or Howard being Jewish.

33:27 mark

"Howard....you are like a Jewish rock star......guns and noses!"
