yes i know its a big change, but i have always loved the south.

i told my job about a week ago, im working the rest of this month.

the last show i have coming up is janelle monae.

we are packing up our stuff  in a u-haul towing our car and driving for 3 days, i have done this trip before but from ga to ca when i was younger, on the greyhound about 3 times.

i lived in ga for about 3 years then came back here in 2000 and have been here ever since, never wanted to come back.

anyway anybody here live in south carolina north augusta to be exact?

we have a place to stay rent free and we have a nice amount of savings, i dont know what im going to do for work yet but ideally would like to meet other music oriented individuals.

done working the 9-5, would like to get serious about producing.

any pointers on anything, thoughts or trolling me is welcomed.

Do you know how many people wish they were in So-Cal? People come this way to chase the dream, not the opposite way lol

Im from SC.  North Augusta isnt much, but its right there by Augusta GA so you wont be far from anything.  Your dollar will definitely stretch alot farther than what you're used to.  Going from SoCal to North Augusta will definitely be a shock for you, and theres no way to really prepare you for that lol.  The laws are alot more lax in SC.  People are friendly.  It will be HOT.  The low gas prices will shock you.

exactly, the cost of living in cali is ridiculous and not even worth it.

not all parts of socal have LA or san diego weather either, plus my dream has nothing to do with where i live.

i pretty much got everything to achieve my dream in my room right now, i earned enough to cop all the stuff i needed

now i can move on and start a new chapter in my life.

i live in palm springs which only caters to rich folks, retirees and tourists.

which pretty much somes up cali as a whole TBH.

the only part of cali i'd ever want to live in is up north, where theres trees and all that nature ish.

where i live right now its hot 9 months out of the year, im not talking 85 during the day im talking about 102 during the day and 95 at night..

You get what you pay for though. I rather live in so cal or tri state......all the access to diff food and gyms alone.
Good Luck OP

Not to derail this thread in any way but...

Palm Springs does not sum nor represent Cali in anyway what's so ever. LA and PS are like two different worlds just like North Cali and So Cal.

you might wanna hitup AC3 in atlanta come october if you're into producing.

What genre you into?

just got back from charleston. It was great., the food was amazing the people were nice and downtown was smooth as well. The city is laid back however spread apart. Seems as if you have to drive like 20 minutes to make it anywhere. It was beyond humid, 90+ and sticky but i guess it was more noticeable due to my cast (broken wrist skating night before my flight :smh:). Cost of living is reasonable if not exceelent compared to so cal. I have family down there.

A lot of interracial couples if youre into that.

Born and raised in the Charleston area. Only been through N. Augusta though, never stopped.

You're only about an hour and a half from Atl so if music's your thing, consider hitting them up...

^^^^^yep

I live in sc.

Hmu.

But honestly the music scene in sc is columbia and charleston.

If u like alotta space youll like augusta.
Ive been lots of places and no summer is as brutal as sc.

Brutally honest tho I dont think youll like augusta but idk your sitation.

Charleston is the best place to move in sc.

You mentioned Janelle Monae so I'm assuming you're in the music business.
What do you do and who have you worked with?
Please respond :nerd:

yeah i know i was just trying to explain to those who dont live here that not all places in socal have beautiful weather.
prolly a good reason why it's free.

i make sampled hippity hop but im interested in other genres too, i will look into that.

this was always an option, my girl has been away from her fam for 8 years, she sees them maybe twice a year.

we have known each other since the 1st day of work, she sacrificed alot for me and i seriously owe her my life.

recently alot of things have happened that  just made this an easy choice.

i work setting up concerts, im an audio and lighting technician at a casino.

i have done stage work for theatres i was also a projectionist at a movie theatre, spliced film and whatnot.

would eventually love to get into studio work.

thats actually where we will eventually end up, but we are living in augusta only because of the free place.

thats where my girl has been applying to jobs at and where we plan to live.

Friendliest City in America? Head to Charleston, S.C.

Southern hospitality reigns supreme in a new survey from Condé Nast Traveler rating both the friendliest and unfriendliest cities in America. The top spot? For the second year in a row, simply head south to Charleston, South Carolina.

Visitors praised Charleston as a “quaint and special little gem” and for its underrated local culture, history, scenic beauty and food. Just behind Charleston, Savannah comes in as the second friendliest city in America.

As for least friendly? That dubious honor goes to Newark, N.J., described by one reader as an "airport city.' The full list:

Friendliest Cities:

1. Charleston, South Carolina

2. Savannah, Georgia

3. San Antonio, Texas

4. Telluride, Colorado

5. New Orleans, Louisiana

6. Fort Worth, Texas

7. Jackson Hole, Wyoming

8. Key West, Florida and Nashville, Tennessee

9. Asheville, North Carolina

Unfriendliest Cities:

1. Newark, New Jersey

2. Oakland, California

3. Hartford, Connecticut

4. Atlantic City, New Jersey

5. New Haven, Connecticut

6. Detroit, Michigan

7. Los Angeles, California

8. The Hamptons, New York

9. Wilmington, Delaware

10. Miami, Florida
