Atlantic city 3 casinos closing his year

Further proof that AC is dying, my mid 70s grandfather just had a great time out there. He doesn't gamble or drink. I think for him it was more taking a trip down memory lane...

AC looks like Camden outside the casinos

Houses cost new car prices

It's really a shame the transformation the city has went through the past couple of years. It's just going to continue to become more of a black eye as well. I think it only gets worse.

I agree

They tried to build up around the casinos with shops, etc only making the other parts worse

You enjoy getting out of your car in freezing weather?

No, I enjoy freedom. Also, I'm an adult. I can fill my own gas tank.

As for pizza, there's good pizza everywhere. New York just has more of it because, you know, millions of people live there.

I'm not sure how you correlate pumping your own gas with freedom, but ok.

AC casinos were done when PA, MD, NY and other states on the east coast opened up their own casinos. Before you would see bus loads of senior citizens from PA driving down to AC to go gamble. But now they just go to Parx, Sugarhouse, or one of the other casinos around.

Things in AC aren't gonna get any better right now. Heard on the news that the Taj Mahal may issue warn notices to employees soon so that could be another casino closing this year.

Every place in AC other than the Trop, the Borgata, Harrahs, and Revel is trash.

Might as well close em all down. It's coming sooner than later. Place is a dump, and that was even before Sandy.

Any of y'all have pics?  The images I see on Google make it seem like the Vegas strip

I actually don't mind NOT pumping my gas every once in a while. For that, Jersey is appreciated.

It is most certainly nothing like the Vegas strip, although I've never been there. I just googled AC as well, and all those pictures make it look so nice from above with all the lights and casinos. When you're on the street, it's a completely different story. Best thing there are the outlets, in my opinion. I'll try and find some pics on my computer from some of my visits.

Most of those pics are probably publicity shots or ariel shots. AC has a lot of problems that stop a lot of people from visiting. They have a big homeless problem, prostitutes, drugs, and a bunch of stray cats.

I do prefer to pump my own gas. But how much do y'all tip em?

I've honestly never tipped any attendant. I think the only people that tip gas attendants are people who are from outside the state. I do know that the workers on the turnpike walk home with like $30-80 in tips daily from out of towners though.

AC is a dump now. Shame to see what happened with Revel though. That was a nice place. But aside from that only thing I liked about AC are the subs from White House. God damn I can go for an original with no cheese right now. Carry on gentlemen. Lol

Been to AC from driving from MD a few times. Only visited Borgata but kinda sick i missed out on checking out Revel. There's so many casinos that's closer than AC now so I can see the downfall. When MGM D.C opens it's gonna be a wrap.

All the Indian casinos and card clubs opening up took their business away. Why go all the way there when there's a casino a couple min away from your home. I live in LA and have been reading articles that Vegas is struggling too but they still get the Californians to go. I've been to Atlantic city and I like how'd they had no smoking in the casino

I've been to AC countless times. the Revel was doomed during the construction phase. i was there on a Saturday night in February and it was a ghost town. it was too tough to compete with the Borgata right next door. all the money generated by the casinos stays in the casinos. one block past the boardwalk and you'd better be on guard. the Trop is my spot and i will continue to go there. besides AC is closer than any of the other up and coming casinos.

Used to love AC in the mid 2000s.. Now, the past few times ive gone.. havent even left the "resort". Usually Harrahs or Borgota. Even taking the bus up isnt safe anymore.. as the depot stays packed with druggies and cats reckless eyeballing

atlantic city better go the route that Vegas went in the 90's (family destination). Now all those kids that went to vegas with their families in the 90's are the raging drunks that are there every weekend at the pool parties and mega clubs.
