I've been reading the news lately, Obama will eventually have to take action for our immigrant system. I think this is an important topic because it can affect many of us and our future.

Please no racist comments and please, no super long paragraphs of an argument. Just state one point at a time.

Give people with clean records papers.there's people who have been living here to long that don't even know how to speak or understand the language from their country

Make the test easier
I took the test last week for class
I failed, if I wasn't born here I'd be ******

If an undocumented immigrant can prove they have no criminal record, they should be given residency

Not our problem. Deport them. This entire crisis at the border has been a joke that the taxpayer has been footing the bill for. Thousands upon thousands of "kids" living on military bases and various other shelters while they won't have a hearing for years. This influx is due to a huge misunderstanding by those in Central America of our immigration policy during the Obama administration. Only in the United States do we give non citizens rights and privileges they don't deserve. You think its a coincidence that he's waiting until after the elections to do something? Citizenship should be hard to attain. This is a slap in the face to those who did it the right way.

I'm on the fence I understand folks looking for asylum from drug war torn countries but I also see the bias with how America doesn't treat all immigrants equally .Immigrants from Sputh America have been used as a crutch for cheap labor and it's been hurting regular folk lately. The fact people can get jobs with extremely poor English while hardworking folks who speak English and are citizens get glanced over isn't right

What isn't right is corporations outsourcing work overseas. What isn't right is the corporate tax policy we have that encourages corporations to keep their money overseas. I really don't care about what Obama does because most likely, it'll be something stupid that puts America further in debt. How about the president actually acts like a leader? How about we address real issues instead of instigating wars and funneling money and weapons to people that we wind up fighting against in a few years.

I had family with no papers work their *** off get taxed from each check and get no freebie benefits. The tax payer has not paid anything for my family but yet they contribute by getting taxed each check and supporting the bums that have every right to work but choose not to.So why deport them if they contribute?
‘ISIS Jihadi’ Carries Severed Head Across U.S. Border: Stunt Shows How Easy It Is To Get Into America
An “ISIS jihadi” crossed the Mexican Border into Texas with a severed head. The event was not a real terrorism attack but a stunt designed to illustrate just how easy it is for a member of the Islamic State to waltz into America. Infowars  journalist Joe Biggs dressed up as an ISIS militant after news alerts indicated that the Islamic States are planning to attack the United States from a stronghold in Juarez, Mexico.
The ISIS jihadi was videotaped behind a bush just a few feet from the Texas border, swinging a machete in a simulated beheading.
“We dressed up as an ISIS jihadi to be as obvious as possible and to show and illustrate just how wide open the border realty is,” Infowars  reporter Joe Biggs said.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, James O’Keefe dressed up as Osama Bin Landen and crossed into America via an unguarded footbridge along the Rio Grande River.

A recent statement released by Judicial Watch cited multiple high-level federal intelligence and law enforcement sources that maintained ISIS was operating in Juarez.

So its better to just know English Than speak broken English and another language ?

Republican nonsense? Cool. I'm just speaking as someone who has half of family do it the right way. So excuse me if I don't sympathize with illegals.

If they end the war on drugs, the incentive to cross and fight over the border largely disappears

Scuse me but I think you're talking about the wrong president.

The bigger joke the tax payer has been footing the bill for is the wars and bank bailouts.

Now this right here is true.

Because they're illegal...

It's really that simple. They're presence here is a literally a crime. So go back to your country of origin and try and come back the legal way. I am a first generation American in my family, everyone else came from Jamaica in the 700 and 80s, the right way. It isn't difficult. It takes work and patience, and sometimes sacrifice.

I'm willing to bet a hugeeeee majority of NTers right now either had parents or grandparents who migrated here at one point or another and didn't do it the "right way" myself included.

Things have changed over time tho, the American dream as viewed by immigrants has shifted from "come to this country and work your *** off for the opportunity to do better" to "come to this country, pop a couple of kids and get government cheese for them" either way this country was built on the backs of immigrants since most of it is composed of immigrants of some country...or is this a Mexican immigrants issue only?

Get off your high horse, my mother came here illegally, nearly lost her life in the process, got here, left her only son at the age of 4 and didn't see me for 6 years after, she worked, worked and worked and ALWAYS paid taxes, eventually she was able to legalize herself and bring me over the proper way....I was given the best education she could and a much better chance at succeeding than I would have otherwise, every case is different.

My grandmother came here LEGALLY. She left her son (my father) when he was 5. Busted her *** working retail to send money back home and to send my father to one of the best schools in Jamaica. He then came here legally when he was 18. An he busted his *** to give me and my sister a good life. I'm not on a high horse. The difference between my family and yours is that we got here legally. Yours didn't.

My dad said he watched a video the other day of the drug cartels in Mexico cutting women's heads off on Facebook.

No wonder people want to leave Mexico but still we need to control how the immigration system works.

If we chose to deport them, deport all of them. That means not just Latin American, but European, Asian, African, Middle Eastern, Australian, ALL of them. It's not right the government only cares for deporting illegals from Latin America n not the others. But there are reasons for that...

Lol. Republicans hate regulations, except when it comes to letting people in here. Lindsey Graham gets a hard on thinking about looting businesses which employ "illegal" immigrants.
