Nobody is saying illegals cause all of our economic problems. But they greatly contribute to them.
complain about defense spending, misappropriation of tax dollars, encouraging corporations to outsource jobs, p2p lending etc. before you complain about immigration. those are the real issues holding this country down.

What kind ignorant nonsense is this?

If they were able to build the Great Wall of China in 206 BC...explain to me how it is "impossible and impractical" to build a wall on the mexican border.

You sound arrogant and self justified. The true problem with the economy is that American corporations are jumping ship and ppl like you ate caught up on ideals of American prosperity that hardly pr never existed. You think corporations are gonna bend over backwards to satisfy 300 million Americans, or do you not realize that the global economy means billions of potential customers worldwide. No amount of ppl leaching the system can compare to the facts of globalism. You are being swooned by your pundits into complaining about things that non pertaining to you, and you further divide yourself from the rest of Americans with you elitist mentality.

These threads always deliver the lulz.

I love reading the armchair president answers to complex scenarios. "Just deport them". "Build a big wall". Yes, because it's really THAT easy. So easy in fact that no president has ever done it before.

I used to be a Democrat, now I consider myself a bit closer to Republican because of their beliefs and views. I mean I don't like guns and sh*t or hunting animals or anything and is okay with gay rights. But if you check the history books, Republicans built this country, and Democrats can potentially destroy it. Don't forget, Republicans fought to abolish slavery while Democrats wanted to keep it. Also, Republicans fought for womens' rights and the right to vote, while Democrats fought to prevent it.

I'm not white, I'm a minority, so I can't be racist or bias, so this says a lot, but I think we should follow and comply with our own laws that helped built this great nation. This country will end up being corrupt if we let people run sh*t out of no where.

And just when I thought I couldn't read anymore nonsense in this thread. NT never fails

I think productive immigrants should be allowed to stay and gain citizenship/ work visa/ green card.
For a few generations many will work jobs that many Americans do not want to work.
There's an Indian community I cannot remember where but they came up America worked for years saved up and started their own business. When they were profitable they started giving loans to other Indian immigrants to get on their feet and start their own business as well. As you can see this posed a problem with the banks.
Every decision is a financial decision.

I'm glad someone gets it. There are far greater issues here.

I feel like the closeness in the votes is a microcosm of our country.  Half the pop (mainly those living on the coasts in the cities) want amnesty, the other half (the majority of states (with a minority of economic power so they feel more threatened by them)) say no.

There's a shortage of people to work in the trades, bring them in. Deport the trouble makers.

I know people who beat their wife and get arrested for domestic abuse only to get their residency.

If you're a law abiding immigrant, here in our country, paying your taxes and not causing problems for the community, you deserve to be legal.

Because there's a check box for disability on the section 8 application right?

Clown

The Hell are you talking about? When did I ever say that? I was adding to what JRS was talking about. There's TONS of legals here in the US that abuse the disability benefits and on Section 8 when they shouldn't be.

I sense your sarcasm, and I'm not for all the "bad" stuff they did, but what if they didn't do all of that? How do you think America would be today? You think it would still be a free country? Or another corrupt country? What if China took it and ended up being a communist country with super strict rules? You think you'd be alive right now and live a good life being able to be free to be online? I mean I get your point, but you should think about alternative actions if something ended up different.

I HATE posts like this. Trying to be slick :smh: "I'm against slavery and European cruelty, but without it I couldn't post on Facebook and NT" :x if you're gonna justify that @#$% at least TRY to use some real reasons instead of the idiotic garbage you just posted.

Reminds me of when oneilmatt posted "Slavery was bad, but without it black people would be living in huts in Africa right now"

^ That was an old *** post from a while back. And why? It's true when you really think about it (from my old post you quoted). It's like you hypothetically saying you don't want to go to a friend's party after a friend invites you, he convinces you to go and eventually you decide to go and check it out then meet the woman of your life in that party. Then when you think about it, had you hadn't of gone to the party, you wouldn't have met her to significantly change your life for the better. Think about it, don't blame the past, focus on the future. I understand the truth hurts, but you don't have to be negative about it.

Where are y'all getting this from?

You know how long and tedious the disability process is?

And what's up with this perception that there is this large percentage of people "abusing" welfare?

I don't even know how one would go about using welfare as a come up if they weren't already doing bad enough to need it.
