epilogue dont really do much of anything on hard. takes forever per oracle. takes too long even for the champion minotaurs shields. that no impact is a KILLER

I shot the epilogue at the oracles and it took me about 2/3-3/4 of a clip to kill at level 29 with it being fully upgraded. I needed some help after the 2nd oracle, and I feel that it's completely fine. Have 2 people take out the Minotaur and hobgoblins for the first 20-30 seconds and then the non-relic holder helps with oracles afterwards.
Impact has no effect on an oracle. The only thing impact affects is to cause a mob to stagger. So yes against a Minotaur it's important, but you still need to burn through their shields first, and a void damage weapon is best at that.

I can attest to this. Biggie and I had no problem running through oracles, both of us equipped with fully maxed Epilogues. With the method Biggie posted we were able to hold our own in hard mode portals at Atheon. The Minotaur on the Venus side though was a HUGE problem. Had to spam him with Gjallarhorn to even stand a chance.

Yea, I would propel a Void rocket at him along with my void grenade while Zero would unload 2 Gjallahorns and then some primary. In this time I can get through 2-3 oracles and then looking for help. Now this would work since Zero and myself can offset one another and help each other out at each portal turn. I just need a Gjallahorn now. .

But when Bungie patches and makes it random who gets teleported
That's why we need to go now while we can. The random teleporting might set us back with hard mode runs a little bit for that part.

This part actually annoys me. I actually like going into the portal and running through that trash more than dealing with the outside. It's the "role" I choose. Bungie is going back on their words saying that you can play any roll you want in the game. I choose to be a support titan, my bubble giving a damage buff, and doing damage on specific events.
It's just annoying.

Yea I feel you on that. It is the same with me and the relic holder thing. I know to pick it up and use R2 to hit and the jump hit, but I would prefer to just be either outside keeping the portals clear. Same thing if one group has someone who normally fairs better and defending the conflux by themselves and can allow the others to defend the portal. I think this might be 1 thing that they end up either not doing or implementing and then later changing after backlash.

I hope in next DLC they raise the maximum level to something else or just get rid of it? Idk about the latter but they definitely need to raise it.
If I'm a 30 by then, there's no reason for me to compete in the new raids just for the sake of collecting new armor/guns? When everything should be maxed already by then.

Sorry for the triple post
But making it random makes it more team oriented, despite people wanting to have specific roles. It forces everyone to know each part of the game and how to play multiple roles.

While I agree partially with this point, I played an MMO before and while my role change from boss to boss, not everyone could due to gear constraints and well, lack of logic by some players. I could literally show and tell someone how I did something but they couldn't match it. I'm not making myself like I'm better than others because I will attest that my survival skills in Destiny aren't up to par with some others that I raid and play with.
But people are better off by specializing. It's the same reason employers do the same for employees. Once you become comfortable it's easily repeatable, which is how it should be.

This is also my first MMO so I don't know how it compares to others or even what to expect from Bungie.

I agree with you Biggie, I hate that they are teleporting random people. The role I specialize in, is the relic holder, and non teleporting team role which includes the Atheon part, everything else im OK with.

I know, and this is the reason I have to do the raid sooner than later, b/c it may be patched by Thursday. I'm going to try to wait to run the Vault with yall, but if I get an invite with a Atheon hard save, then I gotta take the opportunity.
If I already had the raid helmet, Mythoclast, and scooter, then I wouldn't even run VOG on hard.

If you can get us a hard save, I'm sure that Zero, Wright, and myself would be in to do the cheese rather than do our nightfall and weekly. We can wait on that.
