Destiny Thread (Bungie) - 9/9/14

My bad I ended up running the raid with a bunch of random people. First time beating atheon on normal. Got a ship and VoC.

@FreshPairs Bruh........NT only.

That was terrible.

bruh im :smh: at myself for giving myself the hope for those guys thinking we can pull it off. now im paying the price working this long shift on 3hrs sleep. never again.

Yup, never worth raiding with random people if you are doing tough encounters. Everyone needs to know what they are doing or otherwise it just becomes annoying.

I refuse to join up with randoms for VoG unless it's just to do the confluxes and to cheese the templar.

I'm curious about these bad experiences with other players. Are they just noobs that just don't listen or ppl that just aren't ready and end up being carried?

A combination of the two usually. But most of the time, they are just terrible players who don't know how to do the encounters properly and don't have the leveled up weapons.

Like HM VoG, I'm sorry but if you are a 29 and don't have a full setup of 300 then you are hurting the group too much. Or if you are a 29 and don't know how to support the relic holder on right side. There is also the problem that a lot of people don't know how to be relic holders.

I wish I was a high enough level for the raids. I had to be carried last time i played it and the team kept arguing so we didnt even get through it smh.'

at least last night i got legendary arms and "the crash" shotgun right before i logged off, that made my night

its over 5000!?

and @Based Jesus
im sure we'd wreck him in crucible, with the gun of HIS choice lol. no need to explain anything to buddy. btw just got out of an attempted hm raid. raid got cut short cuz this dude was literally having an argument with his mom. it was insane cuz it escalated so fast. dude was even cursing at his mom! (white) and she was cursing back. he was mad about paying for his gas and new tires or something and they went at it. she walked up on him (u could tell cuz she got extremely loud outta nowhere) and midsentence he got kicked out the game lmaoooooooo yall shoulda heard that mess. you already know I was talking **** the whole time

she turned his ish off. probably unplugged it too smh

SO IT CAME TO THAT. FIGHTING WORDS ALWAYS COME OUT WHEN AN ARGUMENT IS FUNDAMENTALLY WEAK.

SURE BUDDY. YOU GUYS WILL WRECK ME IN CRUCIBLE. ALL HAIL THE DESTINY GODS.

everyone had mics and listening for the most part. mostly 27s and 28s. they just didnt have maxed out weapons so that hurt us not putting atheon down in 4-5 TOV. we had him down at like 1/4 health a couple times.

Well Aetheon is level 28 on normal so you are doing -32% damage at 27. Take that into account and if people only have their weapons at ~250 damage and you are doing -40+% per 27. Yup that'll do it. If it takes you longer than 4 transitions then you will wipe because he enrages. 3 is the sweet spot, but we did HM in 2 transitions with 3 level 29s so it's possible. But we all had maxed out weapons.

It's a combo of both. It's kinda sad what the raid has come down to. I remember going in fresh and being confused/amazed at the whole experience. Now, it's literally "Who can cheese Atheon?? Have HM Atheon Checkpoint" and because of this, most people don't know the raid mechanics and how to play as each role. The patch where it randomly teleported people really drew the line in the sand. Most good players adapted and learned how to use the relic comfortably. Others just waited for someone else to grab it when they're teleported. We've all been there before trying to get to the loot the fastest, but I've learned first hand it takes less time to go through an actual legit run on Atheon vs. Trying to cheese him. Now the Templar? That's just too easy not to cheese. Even though the normal fight with the Templar is pretty easy in itself.

I've ran with the A Team before where we cleared Hard Mode Raid right around an hour. I also ran with a random PuG from Reddit and spent two hours trying to clear the Gatekeeper. The Raid is literally a test on a) how to work as a team and b) how to communicate. That's about it. The worst is the guys complaining and talking crap about other players in the raid but then dying a lot and going down often.

And yes, Biggie is right. Having maxed weapons is the best thing you can do to help your fireteam out.

My expectations will always be on the HM raid team level that we had last week now. Full clear is ~65 minutes or so. Was beautiful

2 shot Gatekeeper and went right into a 1 shot kill on Atheon

My fellow GGhorn bash brother. The Gatekeeper in the past, present, and future is no match for the mighty GGhorn.

You already know. Fire 2 shots from GGhorn and watch him die as you reload the launcher to get ready for praetorians

Yeah it was the weapons really, but a lot of times when we were having good runs they would glitch by not sending three or not letting people through the portal etc. That seems to be expected now.

The worst... Also, you can overcome the portal thing by having one person inside grab the relic, the other shoot oracles, then on the outside have 1-2 people come through after you open the timewarp portal as fast as possible and help out with the oracles. Everyone cleanses before leaving and should be good to go. Of course, this only really works if you have max weapons. Even though its a bug, there's ways around it. Never be discouraged, the raid is full of bugs. But once people start getting the hang of it, it only gets easier.

That's where the team work and communication is key. You have to open up the portals ASAP and send in a 3rd.
