Destiny Thread (Bungie) - 9/9/14

The key with their strategy is they were all 31's. Makes the encounter that much easier.

I might just focus on getting the nightfall unlocked and completed on my main before I do anything else this evening. That and get the last 173 faction points I need on my alt to get another commendation and buy either the chest of helm. It will make 3 pieces and I will be about 500 from ranking vanguard on my main to buy the 4th and final piece I need to get to 31.

Yes, I know I can just try my luck with my alt before I buy that armor, but at least I can give the armor to my other Warlock if I end up getting something.

Hmm....maybe at least get through the maze and that 1st chest and then go do the nightfall.

Crazy how we posted the same video within seconds of each other  dam
Zero, Biggie, Write, Frost we running it back on our ALTs right? at 10pm est? :nerd:

I'm thinking of buying more vendor gear and leveling it up. to 31 tonight. Need ~20 vanguard marks on 1 of my alts. Need 10 crucible marks on main along with 200 rep to level. need about 200 rep each for the 3 other factions. I might end up not having to buy a chest or head piece if i get lucky with the packages :nerd:

Maybe. I'm trying to get to Level 31 tonight so we can make the run easier. Just need 700 Vanguard rep then I can cop the helmet. Then I can power level it to 31.

We could do that, it would only take 15 mins tops.

IMHO, Running The Dark Below Raid at level 30 is like running the VOG at level 28. It can be done but will be extremely difficult.

The endgame weapon for the new raid is called Necrocasm which if you look at the stats is pretty much a glorified atheon's epilogue-doctor nope... Knowing that is the next trophy gun and everything else will be irrelevant come the next DLC is more reason as to why I'm not pressed to beat this raid right away.

Mythoclast >>>

QUAD JR THO...

I do it for the challenge and team work aspect. Screw it being difficult, that's the best and most fun part. How to overcome the challenges and walls that arise in front of you. I think that everyone that was in the group yesterday was sort of maybe nervous of what to expect but everyone was focused and ready for anything that was thrown in front of us. But most important, other than some fun PvP or other moments, I would bet my dollar that it was the most fun they had since the game dropped.

I can honestly say that getting to Crota with a group of only 30s is easily attainable. The question comes down, do you have the proper exotic armor and gun load out within the group? And, are you willing to sacrifice your stats to change your role for the best of the raid?

But at the same time, if you are having issues running clean transitions in HM Aetheon and Gatekeeper, you'll have even more issues in Crota's End.

We did the maze first try. We did the Totem/bridge part within about 12 tries. We did the Wizard part in about 10 tries as well

Going in there with some idea of what to do (Frost knew the maze), and looking up strats/videos on the fly when necessary.

That is another aspect of this game that is like an MMO that some will have to come to grips with and accept......you will NEVER beat this game. New content will always come out and make the previous raid/weapons/armor obsolete. There is nothing you can do about it, but either play the new stuff or quit playing. House of Wolves DLC will come out, raise it to level 34/35 or something and everything we are earning now will be cast to the side as well. It's just how it goes with this type of game.

You may say the Nechrocasm is an AE/Dr. Nope style gun, but think about it's intended purpose and using it in this raid with the amount of thralls, knights, wizards, etc that are constantly coming at you. I beat you that it will be a straight beast clearing out the raid, which is what it is supposed to do. It isn't supposed to be a weapon you get now and you never have to get another weapon as long as you play the game. But it will be the undisputed champ for clearing out Crota.

Granted, I get you are saying that you aren't trying to beat everything in the DLC in a week, but it is just how it goes. You won't get all the armor in one go, you will want the weapons, level up various factions, and just complete things as you get them. Just because you might beat it the first doesn't mean there is nothing else left to do. Hell, I would run most of this stuff with everyone just to chat it up like we normally do every evening. That is what makes the game fun to me. I could never see myself playing this game solo.

Bolded for emphasis. This is the best part of the game. I consider myself lucky to run into the 10-14 players that I play with consistently because they are all about having fun while being challenged. As serious as our chats can be when we are doing encounters, some of the **** I hear in chats has me and everyone else rolling. Laughing at the wipes, laughing and cheering at the success/triumph, and just enjoying it together is the best part.

We are social creatures, we are meant to do things together. Even if some of you may consider yourself anti-social.

biggie62 biggie62 wrightone86 wrightone86 PREACH.

I finally realized the true nature of this game after the DLC hit... The way you play the game at this point is your choice. You can either GRIND and get the best gear first or just play the game and have fun with your people. Im optng for the latter with The Dark Below DLC.

Im probably having some of the most fun I've ever had in a game since the DLC hit.
Going in blind with Frost in the raid was nothing but LOL's. We only got to the bridge transition but the first part had us rolling the entire time. And that's the type of experience that I'm willing to pay for.

Shoutout to NT for making this fun AF. Glad I rock with the PS4 squad heavy. This game probably wouldnt be the same without ya'll.

I havent played the new content yet but am I correct in saying that the crucible/vanguard armor has all be replaced with new armor that will max you out at 31?

Is this the same for the other factions? Im petty and wanna look fly in the raidz b and not messing with that generic van/cruc stuff man.

The other factions rock the same exact looking gear. Just the stats get you to level 31.

Thats good thanks.

But damn I goofed and bought my titan armor last week from NM smh. Lol Im gonna have to get however many marks and rebuy

Since this game is about guns....

Whats your go to loadout since the DLC hit?

For the most part I rock with.

Mythoclast
Iron Banner Fusion Rifle (Solar)
Unfriendly Giant (Solar) with Tracking missles and increased reload speed when the mag is empty. :wow: :x

The Mythoclast is such a versatile gun and is by far my fav. exotic in the game. I switch the perks around depending on if it's close-midrange enocunters.
The Unfriendly Giant is probably the sickest legendary drop I've acquired. Picked it up last week and it sits in that heave slot permanently. Sucks that I cant upgrade it cause that joint is just nasty.

So NT fam, after a couple days of play, is the DLC actually worth? Struggle city with tuition and some legal things rn, not sure if I want to buy it if it's just an overhyped map pack.

For my lvl 30 huntress

For work:

VoC 300

77 Wizard 300 ARC

Truth 300/ Gjallarhorn 273? (Just got it last week)

For fun/still leveling up:

AE 27_?

Praedeyths Revenge (27_?)

Gjallarhorn

I was waiting until after the expansion before I max out AE and PR bc I was still confused about reXurbishing stuff. But now that I see that only exotics can be exchanged, I can max them out whenever I get back on

For my lvl 26-27? Titaness

The Last Word (just got the THW stability perk)

PR

The Cure

Titaness still gotta go through nightfall and VoG. Next week I hope
