2016 Jaguar XE - Starts at $35k *** F-Pace Starts at $41k -

I think their reliability has gotten much better and I do think the F-Pace is looking real good in that price range right now.

It's actually funny that they are priced right there with the Evoque, it's slightly bigger I guess (the F-Pace) but overall it is going to steal some sales from the Evoque because it is still advertised as a compact SUV and the Jag is like the bigger brother while the Evoque becomes the little sister (now don't take that as an insult, I do like the Evoque a lot, especially the coupe).

The Macan and even the GLA45 is a bit more expensive (a lot more expensive in the case of the Porsche).

340hp AWD supercharged V6 starting at $42k is looking like a bargain in this class. I think they might have another homerun with the F-Pace and where they positioned the vehicle.

speaking of jaguar, wouldn't you say the F Type is the best car in that price range?

yes i agree, size looks good and specs look good not to mention its good looking in that price range for sure

homerun when it comes out

That was their first homerun, the F-Pace is the second.

With that said, I wouldn't go as far and say it is the best in that price range. The Cayman/Boxster still reign ssupreme, the S versions if you want to jump to the F-Types $65k range. Only thing Jag has on them is that the coupe is cheaper than the convertible while Porsche has it the other way around but the F-Type coupe still starts at $65k and the Cayman S starts at $64k. Overall Porsche wins for offering a $52k Cayman, a lot less power but just as fun to drive.

Then there's the $55k Corvette Stingray...

you'd take the stingray over the F type?

Less luxurious but probably. 460hp, V8, shouldn't even matter but 29mpg hwy, interior that is ages ahead of the old gen, beautiful italian styling, etc... and all for $55k ($10k less than 340hp F-Type coupe, $22k less than the 380hp S version).

I'm not even one of those best bang for your buck type of guys (or else I'll be getting a Shelby GT350) but the Stingray just has the looks, power, performance, the sound and even the interior for that price. I mean i am not even looking at the Z06, the Stingray is more than good enough.

I think the Stingray and Cayman is also more livable than the F-Type. If I have to choose, as much as I love the F-Type Coupe, it'll come third between these three vehicles.

Isn't mpg pretty close between the stingray and f type?  is the interior of the stingray close to the f type?  I guess it comes down to if the $10k for more luxury is worth it to the individual or not.

I believe the Stingray gets high 20s, close to 30mpg while the F-Type is at low to mid 20s.

Interior-wise, the Jag is only slightly better when I sat in it, then again I am not as picky as others. I prefer the cleaner layout on the Corvette over the F and the intrument cluster on the Chevrolets much better to look at too, Jags looks a bit dated (any car that doesn't have much digital there looks dated so it isn't really just Jag). Funny enough, the interior layout is actually similar on both but the Corvette felt a bit more roomy too.

The other factor is the overall styling. To me, the Corvette looks better.

I heard the stingray has a lot of carbon fiber for a car in its price range which could make repairs expensive or something along those lines, know anything about that?

I believe that it true for the hood and roof and maybe some other enhancements like splitters and spoiler, I think the rest are aluminum including the chassis. Not really that much more I think, plus it comes with the territory. Jag is probably going to cost more if you crash it since parts will likely have to be shipped.

People do not really buy a car thinking of the cost if it is crashed.

Looks like a Chrystler with some detail. I'd take the Benz over that any day. And like what was said above...

Not dissing Mercedes at all, but my girl just bought a 2015 Chrysler 200 S with all the options and had to get the rims recoated. It was a low mileage 2015 that some dude traded for a Mercedes. The salesman was cool enough to have that worked into the deal and while the work was getting done they gave her a C class. Pretty much same options... paddle shifters, racing seats, sport mode, etc...

I drove both in various modes, Eco, sport, etc. Was really impressed at how Chrysler's layout, driving and handling and materials were on par with and in some cases better than the Benz. For instance, the C class has a screen, but it's not a touch screen and Chrysler does. The leather in the 200 seemed more quality. The 200 has more horsepower (295). The 200 has sensors on the side and warns you of objects when changing lanes. And on and on.

I know C class is entry level, but I was really surprised after driving it that people overpay just to drive a Mercedes that doesn't come with much.

The Germans dont like people touching their precious screens . Benz is pure trash if your dealing with the C or CLA especially if its not an AMG and even then I wouldn't do it.

My boy was gonna cop that FPace but he couldnt wait long enough. **** is :pimp:

He went and got a 2016 Audi Q5. Its fully loaded but its just boring. He should of got an A7 or A6 but he wanted a truck. That FPace seems like it's special and won't see many on the road with it being a new model.

How much is the lease???

I want a SQ5 on the low, S model Q5 isn't boring at all. 21 inch wheels stock also.
