IMA, Ohio — T.J. Lane, who killed three students in an attack at Chardon High School in 2012, has escaped from prison in Lima, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Lane,19, was one of three inmates who escaped from the Allen Correctional Institution at 7:45 p.m. Thursday. One of the inmates was captured.

Lane and another inmate, Clifford Opperud, 45, remain at large.

Lima police Sgt. Andy Green said a search was underway in woods and a residential area near the prison, about 80 miles south of Toledo.

The two escapees are considered dangerous, but authorities said they do not believe they are armed. They had no further information on how the inmates escaped from prison.

Opperud, 45, was serving a sentence for aggravated robbery, burglary and kidnapping.

When he was sentenced to life in prison without parole on March 20, 2013, Lane wore a T-shirt with "killer" scrawled across it, smirked and gestured obscenely towards families of his victims.

Dude should have already been put in the electric chair. Why keep him alive burning tax payers money and risking a scumbag like this getting out.
 
This guy isn't locked up in a max. security prison, hes in a min/med security mixed prison. How is he not in the harshest prison available?

Brolic Scholar you know you need to stop because you're playing the "race card". You're comparing apples and oranges. You're turning this into a "race thread". Just saying all of this before the resident NT white privilege recipient responds to your post .
 
So if you sell enough drugs they put you in a super max, but you shoot up a school and you don't?

Crazy the police have managed to apprehend this nut job twice without shooting him in the head or choking him to death, I guess school shooters aren't as dangerous as cats selling loose cigarettes.

If he were from the Thomas Jefferson housing development and had a liberal distribution of brown melanin, then perhaps you would get your wish.

As it stands, he's still worth "rehabilitating" despite his extensive evils.

I've been told executions actually cost more than just letting dude rot in his cell.

that's due to many factors such as constant trials they have to go through and sitting on death row etc.
