Rachel Nichols just gave Floyd Mayweather his first career loss

'domestic violence' has become the new way to take cheap shots at a black man while trying to simultaneously appear righteous.  How come Hope Solo doesn't get this media treatment for beating members of her family?  what about Charlie Sheen or Mel Gibson?
Floyd is the one who said something controversial about the Ray Rice situation which brought attention to his own history. It's a hot button topic, so he probably did it for the publicity, but what do you expect a popular figure with a domestic violence history saying something against the grain and controversial about a domestic violence case... I didn't know any of the details of his case until now.

Basically and especially when you are black and have money,it's rape or domestic violence is the old but new take down because it usually does more damage to their image more than anything even if found not true or guilty.I won't even act like a few of em need or needed a reality check(kobe,Tiger),you play with fire you get burned.

Robin Givens is still trying to make a career off of Mike Tyson and I don't believe he ever physically harmed her and besides between her and Don King they earned it.

That's true, Floyd didn't have to speak on it but he probably felt it was his duty to support a brother he feels is being railroaded.  still it's pretty obvious this was a move for her to appear righteous and get some props before Floyd's fight.

The dude who spit at, knocked his fiancée out and then drug her around the floor and kicked at her is being railroaded?

I wish some of you would be as compassionate to the actual victim.

He's corny for commenting on the Rice situation in the first place if he has domestic abuse problems of his own, and she's corny trying to go out of her way to get dude to look bad on television.

Don't support domestic abuse but she irked me. Wish my dude Floyd woulda said "don't matter if they boo me or cheer me I'm still getting paid your annual salary (amount of times) over for 10 minutes of work ***" and then hit the kool aid smile.

Making more money doesn't make you a better person. I always hated people who said **** like this. Or people who think this way. :smh:

I very specifically said 'he feels.'  Did you get to 15,000 posts by arguing with everyone in every forum?

Naw, I got them from responding to stupid post.

Floyd is defending the person he feels is being railroaded

Meanwhile the female, in a week where domestic violence was the primary conversation is asking him questions about his past to be self righteous and props? He wasn't on Fox Sports or ESPN. He was on CNN. Why would he expect just boxing questions?

Sometimes I wonder if you dudes have mothers.

You need some friends, or a hug or something. I only ever see you going at it with people. Stay up.

Funny, I have no clue you are. You aren't that memorable to me.

And I surely haven't seen you discuss sneakers anywhere.

Lol too busy defending the black man being railroaded to worry about the black woman being beaten unconscious.

Rachel Nichols is a sports reporter famb, if I'm not mistaken....

And just because people don't agree with a way someone was punished, doesn't meant they're pro-Ray Rice...

Rachel Nichols was doing a interview on CNN. This wasn't The Breakfast Club. Why wouldn't she ask him about his past this week after his comments? This wasn't like the Mike Tyson interview.

Did Floyd say anything against domestic violence or about his wife?

If two people are fighting, and afterwards, you go up to one out of concern. What would you assume?

I'm not a fan of Mayweather, but Nichols came off as someone with a grudge against him specifically. Had this been a report on the MANY athletes that have domestic abuse issues, she might have seemed a lot more genuine. Hell, she could have highlighted a number of cases in the NFL that show inconsistencies with the stated stance and punishments for domestic violence issues, but she chose not to.

I get that she's trying to get ratings and Mayweather is a heel and an easy target that can get her page views, but it's obvious what she was doing. If she really cared about the issue of domestic violence, her report would have been a lot more detailed. Her line of questioning and her opinion at the end were borderline unprofessional.

Finally watched the vid, he didn't take an L because he dodged the questions with consistency, but neither did she. As a female sports reporter she has a responsibility to ask those questions, and i'm glad she did. Some of ya'll are just too misogynous man, like women can do no right in ya'lls eyes.

Don't listen to Floyd a lot but he didn't seem his usual jovial self in this interview. Can't really say this was a W but I'm not seeing a L here either. Just a rough interview. There were definitely better ways he could've answered some questions in a way to directly address them.

Rachel was going hard to get him to admit something or come to some resolution but not crazy hard where she was provoking him.

So overall this just seems like another Floyd thread I don't get where ppl try to **** on him while his defenders continue to defend him.

i honestly didnt know rachel nichols bounced from espn , had she cracked floyd this woulda been great now its just gonna do its rounds around the blogs , forums and news sites and fade like he show hopefully does too
