As expected, Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier have officially announced a new joint album. After teasing fans with a clip last week
, Royce and Premo confirm to XXL
that a album is on the way. Naming the likes of Jay Electronica, Killer Mike, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, Slaughterhouse, Mac Miller, and Dwele as guest features.

“I want people to appreciate the fact that we didn’t compromise in lieu of the environment. In order to try to change the way that people digest music, we had to take a leap of faith,” says Royce. DJ Premier adds, “The bar has to be high. For this album to be another body of work and another chapter for both of our lives.”

Premier will provide all production, with samples being taken from Adrian Younge.

“I’ve never sampled just one artist, I’m known for my reputation and my creativity,” says Premier. “I wanted it to be my traditional thing where I sample everything I find, but I am really proud how the project came out and Royce is one hell of a pusher.”

“I started going through Adrian’s catalog and it was just making me a fan of his,” Royce says. “It was really inspiring me to want to make music. As Premier started sending me music and I started writing, it was falling into place. It was making me excited about going into the studio.”
wow

It's Gonna be hard to top the death is. Certain album its a freaking classic. But I think this album will be up to that level

primo is  so damn smart.

the fact that he is sampling adrians music gives him alot more freedom rather than having to pay clearances for some old dudes song.

his production is on point, he uses alot of old techniques to record his music so it sounds like alot of the old stuff that is sampled today.

dude plays instrments and even uses old preamps from the olden days and even records on to tape.

primo is one of my idols as is alchemist and ever since i heard about adrian young i have rethought my technique.

sure it will take a while to get it to sound like you want it to but in the end it will alll pay off.
