DJ Premier & Royce Da 5'9" "PRhyme 2"(March 16)2nd single - Rock It

Yeah.  This album lived up to the hype and then some.  I've listened to it 3 times in about 12 hours and each time it gets better.

Royce is quite possibly better than he has ever been.  And as far as the features go, they all made sense and worked well, IMO.  Nothing really felt out of place.

Production is top notch and I love how Preme was able to stamp his signature sound on someone else's art.  And those lovely, classic scratches are still on point after all these years.

The best part of this album IMO is how it flows.  It all seems to blend effortlessly.  And without needing to skip a track, before you know it you're at the end.  That's the sign of a solid, front-to-back album.

Easily the best hip-hop project I've heard in a long *** time.  All you older rappers take note--THIS is how you do it.  Yeah, I'm looking at you Wu-Tang.

I haven't heard this yet, but from what you guys are saying I'm expecting to enjoy this more than Forest Hills Drive, A Better Tomorrow, or Shady XV. All three were a let down for me. Forest Hills was pretty decent, A Better Tomorrow was boring, and Shady XV was just flat out terrible.

Ab-Soul using the 98/99 Jay flow over that beat is too ******* ill.

**** damn near brought a tear to my eyes.

Talk about closing out the year on a high note. RTJ2, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, Prhyme, 36 Seasons (haven't listened yet). I'm gonna be set for a while with this.

9.9/10. Gonna sit this right next to Death is Certain. Royce hasn't been this good since '04.

I feel the opposite in that 2014 has been weak for rap projects but this along with Oxymoron and Under Pressure are the best projects I have heard this year.

I hope everyone who has enjoyed this project also support it!

It was weak if you only pay attention to the radio, but if you're pretty deep off into rap, it was actually a very good year. Throw in mixtape, and it was even better

^ I am the epitome of a non-radio listener. I loathe the radio as far as hip-hop goes these days. I have listened to a majority of the projects you listed. I found many just ok or average. Not saying they weren't quality. I just don't feel like there were many very good to great projects.

Gave the album two spins so far.

Automatically in my top 3 for the year.
