Richmond, VA man commutes 7 hours total each day for his "dream job" in DC.

Man, hell no. Not even for 120k, it aint worth it. Why doesn't dude telework? Damn near every dept in the govt allows telework.

The 70 mins I spend on the train every day is already too much for me..and I only gotta take one train

He has to telework a few days a week ijs. My commute is 2 hr rd trip from MD to VA. I couldn't imagine.

I don't know too many ppl who grew up in DC or MD that care for VA . It's all jokes really...but kinda serious.

I grew up in VA and don't care for VA

Went to DC for college, then moved to MD. Only time I go to VA is to see my parents.

why doesn't dude learn how to change his own car oil?

Its cheaper to have a shop do it. Shops typically do oil changes at a loss.

It's also crazy how he put his story out there for the world to see like we're not supposed to have an opinion on it. Funny how things work sometimes.

No one is saying you can't have an opinion. But its ridiculous to act like communing 3.5 hour to works is insane or unheard of.

That would take away time he could be using to spend with his family. At jiffylube, his car is in and out in like 5 minutes.

Assuming you live/work close to the airport that's like 1 hour and 45 min total commute Better than commuting East Bay to SJ or South Bay to SF

But to answer your question because thousands, of people make that trip everyday. I bet it's way cheaper to fly Oakland or SF to LA or Burbank than it is anywhere in VA to DC.
