The traffic isn't the main issue, more so the distance of his commute. Richmond to DC is damn near the same as driving from Philly to DC. This dude better start working for home, work out schedule where he comes in the offic elike twice a week, or just move.
I understand wanting to be close to family and friends, but how much time does he actually get to spend with them this way? Move an hour closer to the city at least. I'm sure that people would still visit you.
35 hours commuting a week for a salary of 120k? **** that.

some people actually like driving though.. i think the amount of sleep i get would be the Real issue...
if i was this guy i would live in MD.. and go visit my loved ones every other weekend or so.
That's terrible.
My commute sucks to DC itself though. I wake up around 4, my bus leaves at 5, get to DC around 6 even though I don't officially start work until 7. Then it I get off work at 4 and don't come back home until 5:45 in the afternoon.
So true. I commute from downtown bmore to baltimore co.
Not worth it at all, kind of a country mentality. And that 15 min swing is no joke. 15 min earlier will get you there on time, 15 min later and you'll be at work an hour late.
There really is no driving, just sitting.
I'd do that depending on what the money is like. Wouldnt care either. I used to make a 4 hour commute total and I just listened to my iPod and the time fly right by.
I can believe it. I live in Newport News va right outside of Ft Eustis it was a guy that stayed right around the corner from me that would commute to dc for his job in the white house.
It truly sucks having to sleep and wake up early during the week. That's terrible.

I was going to complain about my lame commute to DC from Baltimore, but I get up around 4:30-5, leave at 5:15 usually smooth sailing and arrive around 6:05-6:15 maybe for work at 6:30. I ABSOLUTLY HATE IT!!!!@!@$# It destroys my nightlife, I couldnt even watch the O's clinch. Anyone that have connects to jobs in DC don't hesitate to dm me ..lolz. I never thought I would love a 9-5 more than now!:x
i read this a few weeks ago and i don't understand why he doesn't catch the train from Fredericksburg or Quantico/Dumfries into DC
