Richmond, VA man commutes 7 hours total each day for his "dream job" in DC.

People like him are stealing jobs from people that actually live up here.

The nerve of him commuting up here just to work but spending all his money down in Richmond. :smh:

Lol.

I had no idea people communed to work this much in the DMV area. This is crazy to me. I wonder what the average transit time is for professionals in that region.

im 5 miles from work (DC to Bethesda) and it still takes me almost 45 mins

but i either take the bus or metro...still
I work in downtown bethesda too

The commutes wouldn't even be so terrible if people from Southern Va stayed in their part of the state. An if people from Maryland stayed in their own state. Boom problem solved.

My dumb manager lives across the bay bridge, wakes up at 3:30am been at the job for 32 years. Lead person i work with lives in
Spotsylvania..lol. Jerk off manager is completely by the union book about attendance. I wish him the worst retirement possible
whenever he decides to actually live his life after work. All to work in D.C

my friends wife used to drive from woodbridge to her office next to Arundel Mills for a year or so...then she finally convinced her job to let her work remotely

my co-worker used to commute from Frederick, MD all the way to Cambridge, MD

which is about a 4 hour daily commute without traffic

he did this for about 2 years and finally left.. i think he came to his senses

I watched that video and he looks genuinely happy so I got nothing but respect. I know people that commute 10 minutes to work and are always grumpy or pissed. Then they go home and play 4-6 hours on Xbox live or watch countless hours of live sports. That's a waste of time based of some people's opinion. So what does it matter what another man does with his time? I know personally I couldn't spend that much time on the road but if he's ok with the commute, than more power to him.

Thats really not that bad. A teacher of mine did that for two years. If I was seeing 6 figures I'd do it.

Shouldn't this be a somewhat easier commute once the silver line reaches further in VA. I'm not sure what metro stations they have planned though.

So true. I commute from downtown bmore to baltimore co. If I leave between 4:30 and 4:45 I get home by 5:15. If I'm still at work between 4:45 and 5:00, I just stay until 5:30 because I will get home the same time with less traffic and aggravation :smh:

I hear ya. I live in Harford Co. and work in the city. I HAVE to leave by 5:43 to get to 695 by 5:59. If I leave at 5:44, I will hit 695 around 6:00-6:05 and then I'm at a stand still just to get to my exit a short distance from the on ramp. It's sickening how much traffic there is here.

You got that from a quick video?

His family must hate him.
*He must hate his family.

His commute is literally another job.

Fixed for you. No other way to justify it. You cant cite wanting to be close to family as a justification for spending another FT job just in commuting each day.

He clearly put up with it to get away from them.

This is the contradiction of the whole thing...

Loves his family....but chooses to never see them due to his 7 hour daily commute....that he CHOOSES to do.
