So, we're back at war in Iraq/Syria. Still think we should have pulled out of Iraq?

Obama ****** up by not paying enough attention to the Syrian revolution. Trying to play both sides of the fence. Secretly supplying the rebels while not taking a firm stance on AL Asad. The rebels lost and what happened...ISIS.

Man what? Obama and the majority of Western leaders have been calling for Assad to step down for over 3 years since the first protests were starting. Not sure how that wouldn't count as a firm stance and where did you here that they were covertly supplying the rebels?

The whole reason why Obama's been getting second guessed and criticized by former admin officials recently is because he hesitated to arm the rebels earlier on in the conflict when it would've had the biggest impact for the situation on the ground. The reason they were hesitant was because they had no idea which groups had the best intentions in relation to US interests in the region while his secretary of State/Defense and his generals were calling on him to arm the more "moderate" groups in the opposition. As a result of not arming them, the momentum on the battlefield began to swing towards the more extremist groups among the opposition which laid the groundwork for IS's offensive earlier this year.

Now just a few months ago, the US and other Western nations finally officially started to fund and train different "moderate" groups with their own people and money to make sure that they're looking out for their interests. This is on top of also helping out the Kurdish Peshmerga with arms shipments/equipment/air support.

All that air power isn't gonna mean squat unless you have some sort of feasible fighting force on the ground and the coalition nations have so far ruled that out, which is why they're pushing to make allies on the ground.

The two party system in america is so divisive, so confrontational and argumentative that you have conservatives seriously debating to what extent they should blame obama for the situation in iraq/afghanistan.

But tell me how much richer Haliburton and the Carlyle Group are today? After the deaths of thousands and thousands of women and children. Yet the americans inflated egos keep them arguing about whose side is right, whose side is to blame. OP clearly cares more about blaming a singular politician as it proves how smart he is for being on the other side. OP cares nothing of the cluster**** of travesty that WE left in iraq/afghanistan.

People died fool. A lot of them. I'm sure you can find some other talking point to inflate your self worth.
This, a million times over.  Democrat vs. Republican arguments are a massive waste of time because both parties are funded by the same groups.

This is what flies over a lot of peoples heads, the party line is in reality very blurred since some of the most ardent conservatives and liberals in congress are largely backed by the same corporate contributors and interest groups.

I see your point and on some policies you're right. But you can't tell me that, for instance, the Obama and Reagan administrations governed the same way and implemented the same policies? One was conservative, the other very liberal. Different foreign policy, different domestic policy. One was great and rejuvenated the country after the disaster of Jimmy Carter. The other is sucking.

Fact is if we didn't go into Iraq none of this **** would've happened. The Iraq war is a top 5 biggest **** up in American history. There is a reason why people blame Bush for the region being so inflamed.

Saying he should step down is just lip service. He should have ordered the air strikes on Syrian forces after Assad used chemical weapons against his people. That would have been a firm stance.

Start another thread to blame Bush for all of Obama's screw ups. How do you feel about how Obama's plan for Iraq has worked? Any intelligent thoughts?

I think you're all forgetting how pissed U.S. was after 9/11. Just gonna sit back after  that?

why would we be pissed at Iraq when our own government was behind 9/11 tho?

they just picked someone to put the blame on

He pulled us out and funded the Iraqi army and trained them so they can hold their own. Than furthermore, to keep us out of conflicts, he didn't interfere with the Syrian civil war, which is the country that ISIS formed through the rebels. He may have screwed up in other situations but, you can't blame the formation of ISIS on him. Also you can't blame the Iraqi military retreat on him, they're just cowardice.

Our gov't put people on planes to hijack them, then ran them into the world trade center?

Really?

Tower 7 bro.
Wikipedia:

On September 11, 2001, 7 WTC was damaged by debris when the nearby North Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed. The debris also ignited fires, which continued to burn throughout the afternoon on lower floors of the building. The building's internal fire suppression system lacked water pressure to fight the fires, and the building collapsed completely at 5:21:10 pm, according to FEMA,[7] while the 2008 NIST study placed the final collapse time at 5:20:52 pm.[8] The collapse began when a critical internal column buckled and triggered structural failure throughout, which was first visible from the exterior with the crumbling of a rooftop penthouse structure at 5:20:33 pm. The collapse made the old 7 World Trade Center the first tall building known to have collapsed primarily due to uncontrolled fires,[9] and the first and only steel skyscraper in the world to have collapsed due to fire.[10]

So the feds hijacked our own planes to crash into world trade centers that housed several businesses, law firms for to start a fake war on terror so we can get our hands on some oil?

"Two weeks after the September 11 attacks, the Federal Bureau of Investigation connected the hijackers to al-Qaeda,[1] a global, decentralized terrorist network. In a number of video, audio, interview and printed statements, senior members of al-Qaeda have also asserted responsibility for organizing the September 11 attacks.[2][3][4]"

"Any of the contrived situations described above are inherently, extremely risky in our democratic system in which security can be maintained, after the fact, with very great difficulty. If the decision should be made to set up a contrived situation it should be one in which participation by U.S. personnel is limited only to the most highly trusted covert personnel. This suggests the infeasibility of the use of military units for any aspect of the contrived situation."

The U.S. Department of Defense report even suggested covertly paying a person in the Castro government to attack the United States: "The only area remaining for consideration then would be to bribe one of Castro's subordinate commanders to initiate an attack on [the U.S. Navy base at] Guantanamo."

We should've never been there in the first place.
Saddam was responsible for 9/11 though and was only days away from launching a massive nucular attack on the US with his huge arsenal of WMDs. Thankfully, in one of his conversations with God, George W. Bush was told that he should prevent it by invading Iraq. And so he did, with the "mission accomplished" not too long after. Be grateful that you and everyone you know weren't wiped out in a nucular holocaust.
