If so, a fellow NTer could use some help/advice.

Basically, I don't have any experience in High-End Fashion, but I've grown a high interest over the past year or so. My only experience for work is a server in restaurants while in school.

A couple weeks ago I put on a nice suit, went to a Louis Vuitton store by my area and gave my resume. The lady asked me a few basic questions, it was nice. Fast forward and I'm having my first sit-down interview in two days.

Any tips/advice on what I should expect or prep for? Any help would be appreciated!

UPDATE: 11/4

I got the job at LV :pimp:, much love to those who gave me advice. some of those pointers came in handy.

i'm happy. :D

peace god.

What's the dudes name who made all those high end street wear threads?
Page him.

There was really helpful thread about this same topic a couple years ago.....hopefully some that posted are still out there

Be courteous , show confidence , and let your swag just ooze out of your body. Most importantly during the interview LISTEN well , replace your "umms" with "well" and "OKs" , try to be charming but don't overdue it. You got the job

Talk about being a "brand ambassador". Use that exact phrase.

Talk about how much the brand "inspires" you. Use that exact word.

Call the brand "timeless". Use that exact word.

Talk up your ability to build a rapport and turn customers into "brand loyalists". Use that exact phrase.

Stress that you know how important it is to drive "UPT". Use that exact abbreviation. If they don't know what UPT is, explain that it's units per transaction. They might call it something else, but you've already expressed that you understand a vital concept.

Talk up your ability to pinpoint opportunities for "conversion". Use that exact word. Conversion is the amount of customers who walk into the store and walk out with an item as opposed to those who just browse and leave.

Talk about how important the overall "customer experience" is to you. Use that exact phrase.

Smile. Smile. God damn smile. You need to smile for this kind of job, and smile hard. Smile like you're getting top from Beyonce. I hate smiling unnecessarily, but I was lucky in that I was a seasonal hire who was kept because I know how to sell without smiling like a psychopath.

It don't matter if it's high end or Payless, retail is retail. And it is a domain governed by buzzwords and fakeness.

**** retail.

repped those who helped me out. appreciate that.

there's a lot of money to be made in high-end retail, and i'm going to snatch that up.

Depending on commission rates and where you work you could easily snatch a grand a week.

I used to work on a fixed hourly with no commission at a store that was making damn near a mil a week :smh:

Criminals :smh:

yeah man. one of my close friends is making 21/hr plus 4% commission in high-end retail. paychecks are lovely. lol.

LV is actually fixed hourly, but once I get my foot in the door in High-End, that's all I need to take off.

I used to work security at Chanel. They were making bank.

6% commission.

But they were all at least 30 and had years of retail experience, so good luck OP.

OP Kongrats on the job... If u in Illinois find out whats going on with my belt. Sent that **** in for a repair a month ago almost...

Audi fam I know you do your thing in regards to the higher end stuff... Does Gucci still run an annual sale. I wanted to pick up a couple Polos.

OP Just curious, if you don't mind posting what's the starting salary?

I don't liking window shopping at these stores (LV, GUCCI, SAKS 5th), so when I go it's only when I'm going for something specific and I have the cash on me to pay.

Most of the associates are just as snotty and uptight as the rich people who shop there, I always wondered what they got paid. :rolleyes

Congratulations OP! However due to the update you will now be PMed by people asking for that employee discount.
