the fact that they arrested this dude and fired him has made me not regret my decision about moving there.

You got the wrong impression. I'm from down here and the cops are not nice to blacks. A lot of the older white people I've dealt with in general are not nice to blacks . . . but that's the South as whole.
They arrested and fired him because the video was out and they didn't want to have more outrage with the Mike Brown thing JUST blowing over (which btw is a damn shame, NFL season starts/Rice and Peterson situations + mass celeb nude leak and nobody really cares about it anymore).
They didn't revoke his ability to be in law enforcement and he will likely be in a smaller county doing the same **** not even 6 months after his trial is over.

LOL no...def not. For gasoline to explode, you need a certain ratio of gasoline( in mist or vapor form) vs oxygen, and a hot spark. The ration of gasoline in a tank is much higher and oxygen deficient for combustion to take place. Even if you installed a spark plug DIRECTLY into the gas tank near the top where it wouldn't be submerged, and ignited it, it still wouldn't combust on a nearly empty tank because the ration of oxygen to fuel would be to little. Secondly, the air needs to be compressed for the explosion to be significant.
Think of how a car engine works. The intake valve opens at the same time the piston down strokes, pulling in oxygen. AT this time the fuel injector sprays a VERY SMALL AMOUNT of gas in mist form. The piston upstrokes, compressing the hell out of the air/fuel mixture, which is almost all oxygen and VERY little gas. Then the spark plug creates a VERY HOT spark and ignites the mixture, creating a mini explosion in the cylinder which is transferred into kinetic energy.
TLDR: You need a VERY SPECIFIC, ideal mixture of gas and oxygen, mostly oxygen for an explosion to take place. And a bullet to a gas tank, even mostly empty, won't work...even if the bullet makes a spark. This is not to say it's impossible. But so unlikely it's basically impossible.

On a different note one time I got stopped after making a turn I wasnt suppose to. Cop asked me do I have the registration and insurance, I remember fumbling around in the glovebox for it (havent cleaned my car in a minute) and he was like forget it, what do you have? I said uhh cigarettes? Cause I thought he meant drugs or whatever
