South Carolina State Patrol opens fire on unarmed man after instructing him to present his license

I know this is gonna rub people the wrong way, but the officer should be fired based solely on his extremely poor firearm skills. Aren't they trained to shoot better than this? How are you gonna let FIVE bullets fly like that, and not only do you miss his chest and only clip his hips, but there are FOUR other bullets flying through the community that can damage property, take lives...etc. 

Even if he missed that one shot in the hip, which was intended for his chest, he should be fired for straying four bullets that could have ended up anywhere.

Seriously he was like 10 feet away firing off four rounds before the 5th one hit, and the victim was standing in one spot dancing like "oh snap, two step, oh snap he missed again." 

Pathetic.
 
White cops killing blacks is our problem? Get that clown opinion outta here. And my whole argument was white cops and white people oppressing blacks as terrorist against my people. I have hundreds of years of history supporting my argument.

If you think these issues is our fault then this conversation needs to end now.

You should've paid more attention in school. Bullets are simply metal projectiles flying through liquid gas. Liquid gas won't combust like that. Do you think if you drop a lit match into a bucket of gas, it will explode? It won't even catch fire. Yet you think a bullet will make gas explode? LOL. The match will extinguish as if you dropped it into water. Gas needs to be in vapor, or mist form (think injectors in a car engine), to combust.

The reason static electricity can, although VERY rarely, combust gas is because there are FUMES coming off of the tank in the car where you are holding the pump. It's the FUMES, ignitied by the electric spark created similar to a spark plug, that create the explosion....NOT solid bodies of gas getting shot by bullets. Movies are not real life.

the fact that they arrested this dude and fired him has made me not regret my decision about moving there.

even the guy who was shot was so polite and apologetic.

i cant wait to be out of cali!!

when i got shot at ,the

cop spokesman went on the news saying that it looked as if i had an object in my hand, then later he said that i had nothing.

but thanks to good police work nobody was hurt.

With his terrible aim son could've killed everybody.

This is just insane at this point. I'm totally down for somebody to start putting these individuals down like the rabid dogs they are.

Re-read what I wrote. ISIS killing Americans and threatening to destroy the the western world is OUR problem as Americans as a whole. You are an American. It's your problem. You are a target. You can't just throw your hands up in the air and say "Nope that's YOUR problem I see "you guys" crying about it. Whatever, I'm not seeing reports of them killing blacks. Call me when they behead a black dude!"

As I keep saying my initial reaction was "That's a nationalism/religion/foreign policy issue and not a race issue. You are a potential target just as much as anyone else who isn't part of their cause." Again, that's why I didn't understand the ISIS comparison when you trivialized it. Their rhetoric dictates that Americans and the American regime will be eradicated if their demands aren't met. You're trivializing an entire political group with the base ideals of mass killing and hate for entire religions and nationalities vs what's happening with these racist pieces of **** murdering innocent people.

I just think that's a pretty poor comparison because of how you're discounting the situation with ISIS and how you acted like it wasn't your problem.

The main reason why I replied was just to be like "Why the hell is this guy bringing up ISIS in here?" Never wanted it to spiral into all this back and forth :\

They do. I have a friend that's becoming a cop and the background work they do is CRAZY. They hook you up to a lie detector test and ask you EVERYTHING.

Have you ever:

"smoked marijuana"

"stolen anything"

"said the n word"

"cheated on a test"

"stolen anything from work"

"instigated a fight"

"How many drinks per week do you have"

"Have you ever hit a woman"

Seriously they ask you everything. Incidences all the way back to childhood. They look at your facebook, even if it's on private. They look at your instagram, twitter, EVERYTHING. THey look at all photos and posts. They look at the profiles of people you're friends with. THey look at profiles of people you appear in pictures with. They CHECK EVERYTHING. It makes me wonder how dirtbag cops ever get through the screening process.

I have another friend who was denied entrance to the academy because his mom was dating a racist guy at the time, and they saw a confederate flag hanging in the garage. Game over, no admittance.
 
I don watch tv lmao, if i see a sign that says dont smoke im not gonna smoke at the gas station, nevermind shoot a gun. Excuse me for using common logic not to light fire around gasoline

I guess it's only natural for these situation to put race at the forefront, but to me this should be the priority

The police force is full of people incapable of proper critical thinking in tense situations, rather they resort to emotional reaction which is NOT a good thing for someone who is allowed to shoot people.

Stricter testing and higher qualifications must be implemented to achieve a more competent police force. Perhaps higher salary would attract better talent, but lets face it, you won't have a lot of really sharp and capable people wanting to subject themselve to this type of work, better options for those who have potential to achieve success elsewhere as a career (basically the supply to choose from is not exactly cream of the crop to begin with)

Federal leo lie detector tests ask about weed, drugs, hitting women, stealing, foreign contacts.

NO QUESTIONS ABOUT USING RACE AS A JUDGEMENT FOR YOUR DECISIONS....

And I have stressed to superiors this needs to be a questioned asked....
 
It makes me unbelievably sick to my stomach that the cops first thought is that this man wont comply to his order and would rather engage in a full on shootout in the middle of the day at a gas station...

Like why is he even feeling that threatened pulling over somebody thats pulled into a gas station for a a seat belt violation... dude broke the law cuz he took the seatbelt off before the car was parked!?!? Like cmon!!

I mean sure Ive heard stories of cops getting killed over routine traffic stops for having their guard down but the circumstances here just arent that sketchy to me... but I am black male so that doesnt really mean anything I guess


Glad this bastard lost his job but that man could have lost his life so easily man like any of those shots could have been fatal

But wouldn't there be fumes in the gas tank
And wouldn't there be a spark with the bullet hitting metal???
 
 The cure to this is to just actually start treating this small sample of cops like who they really are, criminals. Make it so they get the same punishment for murder as a regular citizen. Racism is pervasive in our society, and the best way to cure it is to mate with someone who doesn't look like you.

You got the wrong impression. I'm from down here and the cops are not nice to blacks. A lot of the older white people I've dealt with in general are not nice to blacks . . . but that's the South as whole.

They arrested and fired him because the video was out and they didn't want to have more outrage with the Mike Brown thing JUST blowing over (which btw is a damn shame, NFL season starts/Rice and Peterson situations + mass celeb nude leak and nobody really cares about it anymore

They didn't revoke his ability to be in law enforcement and he will likely be in a smaller county doing the same **** not even 6 months after his trial is over.
