South Carolina State Patrol opens fire on unarmed man after instructing him to present his license

Idk about yall but when i drive home from work, it's uncomfortable to drive with the wallet in my pocket so i sit it in the cup holder. I guess i wont be doing that anymore if a cop tells me to grab my license. Smh i hope the cop gets atleast 15 of the 20 but chances are is that's not happening

Thats a youtube comment smh.

It's to the point now where I'm thinking any black person getting pulled over should just put your hands up and tell them where your licesne and registration is and let them go get it. That man could've easily lost his life just leaving work smh.

**** cops.
i dead *** did this once..

i got black men on my facebook defending this!!

:smh: :smh:

Damn at a gas station ?? Felt like it was gonna catch on fire when he started to shoot

hmm...

im conflicted on this.

part of me is saying he should've told the officer i'm reaching for it inside the car, giving the officer a little piece of mind instead of just turning around and reaching in so quickly.

another part of me thinks this cop is scum repeatedly shooting at the unarmed person. he deserves more than getting fired for this. :smh:

well it seemed like the victim just got out of work and was tired so he just wanted to get it over with, the cop was wildin the whole time my dude put his hands in the air and the cop still let off three shots on him.

yea i know bro. as bad as it sounds, sometimes with these cops you have to put your ego aside and speak to them in a certain way, otherwise it could cost you your life.

the cop is scum he doesn't deserve that badge, i'm glad it was taken away from him hopefully his pension too

We tried the hands up, hands on the steering wheel, hands out the windows holding your license and insurance.
They decided that was threatening too, and have continued to brutally beat us and gun us down whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Why is a black men doing something more more dangerous than another person. If this was a white women reaching for something would he have shot her? Do you guys not see they're stereotyping us as dangerous and using almost lethal action on us when we do something typical that another race would not be killed for?

That happened so fast.

This. Not saying the shooting was justified but the way dude went into the car had me thinking he was about to do something else. Like someone said in the Ferguson thread if you're rust scared then law enforcement isn't for you. It just happened do fast.

Damn...

I'm not saying the cop was right, but the way the dude reached for it I can see why the cop thought that he was trying something.

Cop is going to get off though trust... he's not going to do any time either and if his union is strong he will get his job back.

The jury is mostly going to be all white and when they show the video the lawyers for the cop will show that by his motions why the cop reacted the way he did.

In NYC the unions are all strong and have heavy mob ties.

Whenever I get pulled over and the cop asks for my licence I simply tell him whether I need to reach in my pocket or cup-holder etc. That's because the city where I'm from is notorious for having police brutality occur on a weekly basis.

Its just stupid that the cop yelled out "he's got a gun"
because by doing so he's instilling so much fear and worry in innocent bystanders.

This cop is already terminated which is way better than the usual "suspensions" that have been given out in similar incidents.

Hope dude recovers fast from his hip injury

Why because hes black he was going to go and kill the cop? Seriously? Do yall really think black people are just savage killers who dont obey the law?

i wee-bey'd at this comment i seen.

WHOOZIT? 1 hour ago
I'm not surprised this happened in the way it did. It was inevitable that one of these trigger-happy cops would eventually botch a traffic stop execution. The unwritten rule is...if you fire on a citizen, keep shooting until he or she is unquestionably dead, so they can't act as the plaintiff in a court of law. That's why there are always multiple shots fired, when one bullet would be enough to stop 99% of the population in their tracks. This victim is only around to testify because the cop was a terrible shot.

You know what pisses me off about situations like this? People always look at it from the perspective of the police officer. "Well it looks like he could have been reaching for something". How about looking at it from the perspective of the cat that just got off of work and got shot while following the damn police officer's orders. Another difference? The damn officer is SUPPOSED to be trained. It's broad daylight. You're stopping a guy for a ******* seat belt violation. Why the multiple shots? Why not yell drop the weapon before you unload on him? Thankfully, this officer was a piss poor shot. Jail. Go to jail!! And while you're at it, sign the check.
