South Carolina State Patrol opens fire on unarmed man after instructing him to present his license

Watch someone come in to defend the officer
Talking bout "he shouldn't have reached back in the car" :smh:

He shouldn't have... You know of dang well you don't turn around and dive in your car when a cop ask for your license

The thing the cop was wrong about is he shot 2 times after his hand was in the air similar to what the witness of Mike Brown death have said

I'm following this thread for updates as to what will happen to the cop

He shouldn't have... You know of dang well (IF YOU'RE BLACK)you don't turn around and dive in your car when a cop ask for your license

The thing the cop was wrong about is he shot 2 times after his hand was in the air similar to what the witness of Mike Brown death have said

fixed.

Dude is getting charged, there is a video of him blasting with justification, but dudes are in here ridin for him. Playing that "cops do a dangerous job" card :smh:
Do you think I'm "riding with him"? Seriously?

What point are you trying to prove by posting those videos. That cops do a dangerous job? That cops have been shot/killed in line of duty?

That is common knowledge brah. I doesn't add anything to the discussion.

C'mon Man U know damn well he didn't dive in his car

how the **** are yall saying yall could see it happening cause he reached back in his car quickly.

dude tapped his back pocket and felt no wallet, turned at a normal pace to reach back into his car. cop gave him no time to do anything he was asked to do.

cop yelled get out of the car and before he could finish saying it the second time was firing shots. cop should get at least 15 yrs and dude should get fairly compensated.
I watched this w no sound the first time... Was not surprised at all about the cops reaction to the way the guy moved.

I've now seen it with the video and it makes a world of difference.

Point being the dudes movement into the car is pretty unnerving without the context of the cop telling him to produce his ID.
why would you....expected

lol...

moot

If ya'll wanna see how quickly things can turn bad for a highway trooper...
In every vid the cop allows the person time to follow an order. the cop in question lets off half a mag seconds after asking for dude's license.

Maaaaan we know this **** already

We talking about innocent people who end up DEAD because of some over zealous cop

People who are suppose to serve and protect are killing the people they suppose to protect
"Overzealous"? You don't know that.

They cant know what is going to happen during a traffic stop... A cop shouldn't have to be laying his life on the line every time he pulls someone for speeding or not wearing a seatbelt.
But he didn't though dude was reaching for his license

And an innocent person life shouldn't be taken For reaching for their license
Bro where did I say it was okay for that SC cop to shoot the man?

I don't know why I bother replying to people like you... "an innocent life shouldn't be taken for reaching for their license".  Some really breakthrough thinking there... Before you said that I totally thought everyone who reaches for their license should be shot. /sarcasm

As I said a couple of posts ago... This would happen less if there wasn't such an animosity between the general public and police.  I can imagine that it's in the back of every cops mind that each day could be their last when they suit up.

Not exactly an enviable position to be in...
Miss me with that animosity crap
Black dude didn't seem like he was trippin or upset
Cop just wanted to let that gun go off
He was looking for a reason

And what do u mean by "people like YOU"?????
nerd.gif
"People like you" who take my comment and then say:
And an innocent person life shouldn't be taken For reaching for their license

can we please stop with the general public ******** this happens to black men 9.9/10 times

like someone said earlier he dosent start blasting if a white soccer mom reaches back into her mini van

the police are stereotyping black men and firing at will based on those stereotypes
I wish NO ONE were killed by police in a situation like this... Go read each of my posts... I'm posting as someone (who, by the way is hispanic) who thinks the burden hangs not only on the police to control their actions, but on anyone who just blindly labels a person in uniform as a "swine scum".  It sickens me to know that I have family who is an NY State Trooper who I've known my whole life and has a flawless record as a cop would be "laughed at" by certain people if he were to be killed simply because he's a cop.

Can I have that opinion without being labeled a racist by dudes like naughtyhare who doesn't even know me?
@fraij da 5 11  Nah bruh

We shouldnt have contempt for those who oppress us because it makes them  uncomfortable?
So all cops are oppressors? All I said is that it isn't an enviable position to be in.  Citizens shouldn't have to be worried about getting shot while reaching for ID that they were asked to show in the same way that a cop shouldn't have to be worried about getting shot for pulling someone over.

I fail to see how this is such an unpopular and/or misconstrued point of view on NT...

why was he being stopped in the first place?

sick

meanwhile, the Officer that killed John Crawford III gets away, HERE'S THE VIDEO BTW

You'd see the point if you read all of my posts in this thread.

LIS on first watch of the video without sound (without knowing the cop asked for his ID), I cringed when the guy turned quickly to the car and reached inside of it... that is going to be a red flag for any cop.

Around here you're expected to stay in your car, you NEVER get out of the car if you get pulled over... just chill in there and let the cop come to the window without doing anything creepy.  I know he wasn't pulled over in that way and was probably out already but all I'm saying is i'm not surprised that the cop got jumpy about him turning into the vehicle when I first watched without the context of him asking for the ID.

I didn't dispute that, the video's speak to the mindset that a highway cop might have to someone reaching into the cab of the truck.

I wish dude would have said "My ID is in my truck" or something to at least give him a heads up that he needed to reach into the car.

Bet you if it was a white man in the burbs, this wouldn't have happened.

Some people just dont get it though, no point of even arguing about it.

Probably not, the whole tone of my arguments is based on people stereotyping each other.  Cops judging a black man before he knows anything about him as well as people (such as seen on NT) judging a cop before they know anything about him.

I post in these threads because it not only saddens me to see someone killed or hurt for no reason by Police but also that people have an attitude towards cops that is poisonous to the discussion and really doesn't help solve the problem at all.

Seems to me we judge these cops by their actions

Those attitudes towards cops come from experience, ever thought of that?

A cop chose that dangerous profession. I didn't chose to be black, yet my skin color is dangerous and a threat to this society where incidents like this can be deadly.

Yes, I have thought of that... THE PROBLEM IS CYCLICAL.

I'm fine w judging the man in the OP video and with judging Mike Browns killer... They were in the wrong very clearly.

However that isn't who I'm talking about when I said judging police before you know about them.

Well now I'm confused cause I thought we have been talking about all these cops who have killed and discriminated against people

Like i said, people just dont get, especially if they aren't black. **** like this has happened to me while in college.

If you dont get it thats cool, I just hope you dont ever get in a position of power where you lack common sense.

Well, the silver lining here is that buddy will get PAID because of this.

Unfortunately true justice, as in this scary *** cop getting locked up, will probably not be served. Par for the course. :smh:

My post earlier in this thread "F_ these cops!"

By these cops I mean all racist, trigger happy, scared of every Black person they encounter cops.

I can tell the difference between a good cop and a bad one just by the way they talk to me.

So no I don't hate all cops or have an attitude with them from the jump.
