it'd be cool if they had a show for young people like Teen Summit back in the day.

The glory days are long gone though

BET sucks man.

Even when they occasionally play a hood classic it still sucks because
of all the edit's and commercials. :smh:

I seriously haven't been able to tune into that network since Big Tigger left.

Minus College Hill (just never watched it), these were the goods. Rap City was the greatest thing ever. 2 full hours, a variety of rap videos and not solely what was on the charts, and the fact that they would show the entire video from start to finish, instead of showing half the video or showing a still pic of the vid and going to the next one.

Midnight Love, Teen Summit, UnCut, early Rap City with Big Les as the host, I appreciated early 106 and Park later, but didn't like it at the time. That's all BET was really good for. The rest is just a disgrace.

Question for my jeeps:

Was BET really dope...

Or the quality stayed consistent and we are all 10+ years older and recognize how terrible it is today?

Comic view either made me cringe or laugh hysterically

Shout out to dat rachel chick from dat island show
Smdh at sunday og bet

BET is appreciated on my end...

I think they've done a decent job over the years with broadcasting... It's not the same as what it was in the 90's, but I think they have done well with adjusting to the times and finding ways to keep audiences tuned in...

Some parts of their programming has receded, but I think they do a decent job with the little sitcoms they do have (The Game, RHH), their events and award shows, and they have a decent line up of syndicated programs...

The Christian community is a big part of it too, and I think BET has done a good job catering to that genre... 'Sunday's Best' is a hit with them...

Rap City, Comic View, and Hits From The Streets will always be appreciated...

90's BET i think had more of an accurate representation of hip-hop and it's culture.
