Moving out your Parents House Appreciation!

I'm 25 years old. Should I expedite the process of moving out? Am I a late bloomer or?

My plan for a couple of years is just saving & saving.. Making $16 an hour at USPS right now....

You should had been move making $16

Man some of you guys are lucky. In my family you get kicked out at 18 years old when you graduate high school rather you like it or not

Had my own place when I was 19 years old. Always been on my ever since with no savings except maybe one paycheck.

I had to grind. I couldn't count on my mom or dad for money. Dad was a social crackhead mom was a drinker and on SSI. My dad would throw us extra money every now and then like every year but it wasn't nothing

I still traveled partied, clubbed . And had girls at my house almost every day between me and my best friend
Back then when I got my first crib I was making $8-$9 a hour. Rent was about $500-$600 a month.

Got a better job at factory and was making $14 a hour for a few years. Got Lauer off and got unemployment. Chilled on unemployment for 2 years $1300 a month.

This was when the economy took a dump..

Had my best friend as roommate it's was 4 of us total, we had a big house. 2 moved out so the friend who rented the house wanted me to split the rent down the middle between 2 of use. House was like $1300 month . I'm like I can't do that ,I would 've paying $1000 or more with other bills and car note.. I moved out then with my girl on university campus paying nothing but like $200 a month..

Shortly after I bought my own house well we did

You guys got it easy. I don't no of any one that their parents allowed them stay permanently after they turned 18.. I almost hated my mom for dang near rushing me out., she even called the police on me when she got drunk to get me out.smh

Nobody taught me to save... Nobody taught me about credit and to invest, this is why I try to guide the youth now, us older people go through the struggle so u won't have too
Listen to those elders

Don't have kids at all if you can avoid it lol and especially don't have a baby moma and remember if you have 3 kids with your wife etc.. if you divorce your paying child support up the butt. Listening to those old heads complain how they left with $50 after child support made me strap up each and every time

living alone is scary...got nobody to back you up...

a neighborhood homeless dude threatened me and would go through my garbage a few nights a week...caught him peering into my window one night...he slept across the street on the library steps...cops were like "thats just him being friendly"

this was in foggy bottom/west end part of DC too...hate that part of the city

*let me reiterate I'm no street cat so this place had me shook

This is a really real thread to me.

OP much congrats dude. I wanna follow in your footsteps soon. I just returned back to my family house this year from Grad school. 29 now and I def want to be out within the next year. I also want to open up my own business next year so it's gonna def take a lot of planning to see if a move is feasible.

I'm with this move out the crib life. I was alone for 1.5 years at grad school. I can do it, but rent prices in NYC w/o a roommate is killer but people do it everyday right? Time to get with the program.

Much success.
