Lol - this place turned into Hypetalk from Niketalk.

The Air Jordan phenomenon was literally overnight. I really think it started with the Concord 11s - I've never seen lines like that before for Jordans. The line wasn't even bad for the Cool Gray 11s. I think the Concord release, in addition to Kayne (plus other high-powered celebs wearing J's) got us to where we are now.

Most people were thirsting over the All Star releases from Nike when the Royal 1's came out. Then people realized the limited numbers and surfacing pictures of rappers wearing them, that AJ1's became popular. Think about it, AJ1's are resellers' dreams come true. The shoes go for under $200 w/ tax and the value automatically inflates to over $350+ on release day.

Even in 2011 - 2012, people dismissed AJ1's altogether. Now, we are talking about suicide watch? lol, please.
Obligatory Concord game over post. Definitely a must for a ****show thread.

Ummm, nah. Late 90's, I used to remember walking into my local FTL and had employees there kissing my behind so I can buy one the high-priced Jordan releases. Late 90's little teens were collecting Pokemon cards, not collecting J's like today. I remember the late 90's man, it was pretty quiet for a sneakerhead.
