how can you blame him when people are copping multiple to resell? and don't say there's lots of pairs being made and if you really want them you can get them because we all live in different areas where the demographics are different. I had to resort to resell prices many times because where i live, just about everyone buys shoes and more than half of them buy to resell

the resellers will always be the number one to blame
LOL sure.  Guess what happens to the resellers if you stop giving them money?   But just go ahead and keep feeding the beast, and blaming them for the problem.   And please tell me why you HAD to resort to resell?  It is because if you didn't get the pair of shoes you wouldn't have anything to cover your feet with?  You NEEDED those shoes right.  Yup.

Blame Nike, blame JB, blame resellers, BUT DONT blame yourself or the others that have created the current environment - every single person who supports resellers.

yea i understand the whole stop feeding the beast concept. But if you look in my perspective, i only cop 2-3 of the newer releases a year which are mainly the OG colorways, which i'm positive a few do here too. So it's not like i needed them, but i want them. And knowing how difficult it is in my area to get them, i do resort to resellers.

Bruh, you need to relax Lol. Dude was just saying if he struck out on these 1s, he would pay resell. OBVIOUSLY no one NEEDS these shoes, but if a guy wants to pay resell for a pair of kicks that he wants, then let him be. The resale game is just a part of the JB marketing machine.

My point exactly.  Quick to blame JB every time.  Fools

You're right JB has nothing to do with people not being able to get there shoes, all they do is make and distribute.  The problem is that people are buying multiple pairs at the retail price of $190 trying to sell them for $100+ just so they can get more money from people because they have the product they want.  That basically is deceit because they were the ones who bought potential pairs that people could have had just to make a quick buck.  I know it going to end up being done with these so thats why I'm saving my money to see what happens (even though I know the resellers are going to win).  I don't need the shoes, I want them the same as all of you do in this thread but resellers with outrageous price are killing the sneaker game and it just plain wrong, I hope all of you guys at least get one pair as well as myself (aiming for a 12), see you guys throughout the year!

You're right, but like I said if people stop feeding the resellers they will go away.  Stop supporting them now, sure maybe you will miss a few releases, but long term if they keep buying stock and losing money they will disappear and you will be able to get the shoes you want easier without having to pay above retail.

Not singling you out but there's so much complaining about bots and resellers and JB price increases, but nobody wants to do a damn thing about it but complain.

JB's decision to limit supply for their releases creates resellers. Thus, JB is the reason the resale market exists.
Wrong.  JB's decision to limit supply increases demand.  Suckers who cant live without a shoe and look forward to the next release create the resale market

You're right, the only way to stop them is to stop feeding them but we're going to have some people who will still do it and that will change nothing, I'm going to try to get these at retail and hopefully I will.

I made a quick chart to basically explain why Jordan Brand, not customers, are the reason for the existence of resellers. Basically, resellers are just exploiting a market inefficiency due to the fact that JB underprices their sneakers. If JB priced their sneakers at the price point in which the markets (us the customers) would buy their supply, resellers would not exist. Using Legend Blue 11s as an example, people are going to pay $300 for a pair whether its the resellers charging that price or JB charging that price.

What do you think about people spending that much money for the Frags, if you don't mind me asking?
I think the shoe is dope, but not for that price.  I mean the 1 is one of my favourite sneakers classic silhouette, but its in no way worth $1000.  I have shoes that are in that price range but they have real leather and real quality.

I think one day, anyone who ever spent $1,000 on a J that isn't signed by the man himself, or game worn, will look back and call themselves stupid as the shoe sits in a box deteriorating lol

LOL looks like you stole that quick chart from investopedia.com but that's cool.  Also have you see how crazy people are going with the $20 price increase - imagine JB adding another $100..  And like I said, if people stopped paying resale, then the resellers go away and JB will still be here.

Adding the following in as an edit

What your chart is not accounting for is the 'hype' that Jordan creates around their shoes by limiting the number of shoes available.  They are playing a game of balancing inventory, and brand value.  Its not at all an inefficiency, but a planned, deliberate, and successful marketing strategy

I used the chart from investopedia for the purpose of time, but the text is my explanation for why resellers exist. It's just a basic supply/demand chart. Resellers will ALWAYS exist as long as JB under prices their sneakers. Doesn't matter how much people complain about $20 price increases, they're still going to buy up Jordans like there's no tomorrow. The fact that people are WILLING to pay resale value for Jordans shows that JB is underpricing their sneakers.

Are you kidding?  If Jordan even thinks about jumping to a $300 price point, the shoes will no longer sell out.  They will lose a chunk of their clients based on affordability alone, and once product is seen sitting, it devalues the brand.  Im not sure why you are unable to face the fact that if people stopped buying shoes from resellers then they will go away - this isn't even really debatable.  Also not sure if you saw my edit but..

Hold do they underprice a shoe?
