This spot was in the cuts in Newark ca

Campanella Modern Italian Cuisine

 man I hope not
Btw another recommendation is Alexander's steakhouse out here in the bay
There's 3 each one has a different menu
1 in sf
1 in mountain view
And one near palo alto which is called Alexander by the sea and is more seafood based
Place is :pimp: :pimp: and service is very good
I definitely left a tip

I am not impressed by the pics posted so far, take them to the official food thread instead (for peasants).

My bad. It was Bobby Flay Steak in Atlantic City at the Borgata. Service and food was great.

I want to do the fine dining thing again but maybe not a kobe beef steak again. I wouldn't say kobe beef is underwhelming or anything either. For me kobe beef may be just a one time deal thing.

Keep it one thread. Let this die. I like fine dining, but I'm not eating at places like danko, French laundry and the kitchen everyday. Maybe 5-6 times a year at the most.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say 70% of NTers don't even get down like that.

Never heard the kitchen :nerd:

want to try Minibar in DC...

from a Yelp review...

"I tried not to read too many reviews before I went here on Saturday.  I figured I would hype the place up in my mind and it would be good, but not worth the $900 I spent for two people.  It was good though and it was even worth the money.  $250 each plus $75 each wine pairing, extra drinks at the bar after tax and tip."

I'll post one restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner

First is one of my favorite breakfast places of all time, The Original Pancake House. Its not really fine dining, but its not a hole in the wall spot either. This is their Dutch Apple Pancake, also called Pannekoeken. Edina/Richfield MN (near Southdale Mall)

Up next, lunch. Anytime I'm in Michigan I go to Little Tree Cafe at least once, if not multiple times in Royal Oak. These are two of their specialty rolls, the name of which escape me. Not quite fine dining, but real easy to run up a $100+ bill between two or three people when eating dinner.

Finally, dinner. If you've spent any time in Minneapolis, you've probably heard of Manny's Steakhouse in Downtown. One of those classic steakhouse places. Apologies for the struggle pics, last time I took pictures there was a while ago when I had a crappy phone.

You really should share the desserts. They're huge.

Honorable mentions:
Fogo De Chao (if you've never been, go tonight)
112 Eatery
Saffron
The Capital Grill (the serving staff is absolutely horrible, great tasting entrées, but the service is by far some of the worst. Don't want to blame it on anything, but there is a certain crowd that tends to go there, yknow?)

So what constitutes something as "fine dinning"? I'm genuinely curious

Combination of price point, ambience and service (from the moment you walk to when you leave). To me, fine dining is any restaurant where the majority of entrees are $30+, with (hopefully) service to match.

After going on weeklong businesstrips where every meal is paid for by the corporate card, I've come to realize that they all start tasting very similar. Imagine filet mignon for lunch, lobster for dinner, filet again etc, fancy this fancy that rinse and repeat. If lobster was as abundant as french fries, we wouldn't care much for it. Some foods seem to be more like edible gold than anything else.

But I do love food and appreciate a fancy meal every now and then. However, if I were to spend the rest of my life not dropping $250+ on a meal, I wouldn't mind it.

That's dope
The fizzy paper dessert looked interesting
Quick question
Was that u in the vid
Also how many courses did u get for 250
Out here a 9 course meal can be 250
There's one I know that has a 20 course but it's 500 per person

No picks but every Christmas, my boss takes the whole office out to dinner (Its about 12 of us).

We go to restaurants that serves 5 course meals and different wine to every meal.

We have caviar for appetizer. Its a little too fu fu for me but he enjoys it. Bill comes out to be about 7gs for 12 peeps..

To be honest, Id rather him give us extra bonus than spend all that money on food.

no that was not me in the vid but its the best one I've seen that shows the variety of the place...you get 28 courses i think...thats why lots of the reviews say its best to go with a larger group, i think
