2015 NEW YORK YANKEES OFFSEASON THREAD VOL. Baseball is in the air

yanks don't wanna pay these upcoming bonuses. don't know why we're acting broke but they don't wanna pay this dude. eh, whatever ...

this year is gonna be an absolute head shaker, might as well start now ...

Why should they?

Those Milestone Bonuses were because they would have made a ton of money on his accomplishments, so they were going to pay him.

His on field/off field conduct has rendered any milestone useless from a marketing standpoint.

I get why they don't wanna pay him cause they feel like they were swindled but I don't see them getting out from having to pay him.

If A-Rod had his current numbers and no link to steroids, the Yankees would've made a bunch off of him this upcoming season. 6 HRs away from tying Willie Mays, 61 hits away from 3000, and 31 RBI away from 2000; only Ruth and Aaron have 2k RBI. But instead of getting to market all of those things, they're gonna have to deal with the media circus thats gonna surround him every where they go.

Alex gonna sell tickets like he always does. We don't have names that fill those high price seats.

Been pretty quiet in here. Yoan Moncada is now available for teams to make a run at. A lot of people have us as favorites.

I think we should kick the tires on James Shields. I didn't like him at the beginning of FA, but since it's so late, and most teams are set, his market is small. See if we can get him on a short contract. 3 years. He's not going to get 7. Hell probably won't even get 5, unless he took a huge hit AAV. anything over 3 years, take your hat out of the race. Maybe he's at the Kuroda level salary, between $15-20mil.

It seems like Shields market is small because he wants too much money. He's a good pitcher but inconsistent. I would love to have him at the right price though.

kid looks like the real deal

we have to at least offer him a contract even if he doesn't accept

The Yankee Years (Joe Torre and Tom Verducci), worth my time?

Andy Pettitte is getting his number retired.

Supposedly so is Jorge Posada.

And finally Bernie Williams is going to get the recognition he deserves and will get his number retired.

Jeter not going to opening day because he "needs a break"

Somebody give quick scouting notes on Moncada and who he's being compared to.
