Survivor's Remorse TV Series, Exec. Producer, Lebron James, 2 free episodes

I just binged watched eps 2-4 I saw the first episode a couple of weeks ago and wasn't impressed but it deff picked up on episode 2... :rofl:
 
I want to like this cause I need something to fill Entourages void.

But they need to fire all the writers and try again.

So far from realistic. How does a veteran not know how to navigate the NBA waters by himself. They were better off casting dude as a rookie. But he's obviously been on 10 day contracts...signed a few contracts etc etc.

Secondly...the type of s*** he gets into during the offseason is just downright outlandish. There's also no real gauge of his status in the league. One day...he seems like a good addition to a team on his first big contract...the next he's some mega star...then he acts like a rookie who's never seen a contract before.

His sister is OD...like she NEVER misses a chance to be corny and over the top. Horrible actress btw. Pam and Mike Epps are the best parts of this show.

The main character also appears to be completley unable of being independent...which is hard to believe if he's an NBA journeyman signing his first big deal.

The show would be better off casting him as a rookie, or high profile draft pick. So much corny and cringeworthy bs.

And this is just on the believability factor. I understand it's a show...but they are ALL over the place. Don't even get my started on the writing...plot, casting etc.
 
I'm surprised you guys dont like this. I had dvr'd the whole series and watched the whole thing between today and yesterday. It's great to me. Might be better because you can just go from one episode to the next instead of a bunch of time between weeks, so it's just mashed as one big ep. But imo its great. I love the premise and the thought behind the show. I hope it gets renewed for another season.
 
I find the show to be hilarious and way better than what I'd had initially assumed it would be...

Every episode progresses all-around... From the acting to the stories.

The sister is a bit OD, but I've been able to tolerate her as the show went on...

Definitely was not expecting that outburst from the preacher, dog... :lol: :lol:

And most of the women on the show are :pimp: ... The joint Cam hit in Ep. 1 and the young joint Mike Epps hit >>>*

Show is entertaining. I'm hoping to see more in the future...


 
Caught the first two episodes on demand , I was actually surprised the show is pretty decent, I kind of get a entourage vibe.

i wonder if this is how lebron feels? having to do bs stuff he doesnt want to and then having to take care of everyone. kinda like how everybody hates chris was all chris rock stories form growing up lol

Thanks for being detailed with your response. I can never understand when people don't like something and aren't able to explain why. To your point regarding his NBA status, I hope they will add some cameos, maybe some ESPN highlights and more attention to detail in next season. My only way of knowing he is sorta a big deal is the huge contract and major Nike putting so much into signing him.

Hopefully there will be more than six eps next season and acting will improve. The sister is, well I don't know what she is, but I can imagine some les chicks being in her position acting like that.
 
thing is...dude has to be what now, like 23-24? chinese contract is for 5 years and its small. 8 mil a year is small. starting off. so he'll be looking to get a max deal from nike at 28-29? Idk. So dude cant be that big yet. I'm assuming he's a point guard? dude is tiny.


i really liked the detail about the cuz saying the're renting the crib. that big *** penthouse in ATL would set him back a ton.

it's a fun show to watch.
 
Solid debut. I also get the Entourage vibe from it. The acting got better as the episodes went on. I cut it some slack as this is only the pilot season. Hated the love triangle in the finale though but hopefully it isn't a recurring thing.

But I'm curious to see where/how the focus shifts and the series' longevity. They can only do but so much with Cam's story without it becoming a cliche bball tale. They can make Reggie into an E type character from Entourage. Unc and M Chuck can be a funny duo.

I see a lot of potential for a solid series. But in all likelihood probably wont make it past 4 seasons max.
 
Didn't know this was out, on and over already. Just knocked the 6 eps out. Definitely dope. Glad season 2 is renewed and for hopefully 12+ eps.

Reading a lot of comments in here about how "unrealistic" and off base this show is, and I totally disagree.

Speaking directly to him not acting like a Vet and needing help navigating the NBA waters, well, that there is the difference between 800k to a few mill per year (which is what he was making) and a 130million contract.

That is a HUGE differnece in lifestyle, Huge.

You make 1million per and before you even cash the check its down to 625k from being taxed, less agents etc etc etc. 1 mill basically is the equivalent of a couple hundred grand after buying a car and house. ( I'm talking a 400k type house not some penthouse) If this part of the show seems unrealistic, it's simply because you didn't think through or understand how little money a non max type deal actually is when you are planning on splurging like he is. 1-7 mill a year and you can't trick like he does on the show. Not for long anyway.

No way he can buy Astins and a loft in Dtown Atlanta with a patio bigger than 2 houses, on 3mill per year, that's why NBA ballers end up broke, doing big things on a little type contract.

Long story short, it's realistic. ITS DOPE

the preacher was funny as hell
the sister's passes at the sister in law are great too she just needs some pipe in her life honestly

Season 2 got picked up and will have 10 episodes.
Mike Epps character is hilarious on there...comes off natural for him too for some reason

honestly im only of the biggest lebum dislikers round here & i can admit when something is good... this show could last 4-5 seasons with a ounce of better writing & flow
