Not really true. The bots that bypass captcha are using Nike's API's and these can be stopped with no work around. The keys to the authenication would be shared with those who are provided access to the API and the others would be locked out. Depending on the strength of their username/password combinations, and restrictions on the number of incorrect entries, it could be near impossible to brute force into it.Think of the movie "Vegas Vacation"
When Clark went to the Hoover Dam .... NDC is Clark's gum and bots are the water seeping thru the cracks
NDC patching the holes and the bots just find another way
There is no end this will get exposed too
The issue with the javascript bots is another issue. I'm not familiar with any fool proof way of stopping this, but there are definitely ways to detect javascripts running from user machines which I wont get into.
It comes down to if Nike is willing to spend the capital thats needed to stop this problem. If they are, then it can be done.
