I dont know how to approach this....

im workin at a smaller satelitte site so its not alot of room..maybe 9 people in one office sharing double/triple seated cubes...in a office no bigger than a average studio apt..

no cafeteria on site. so u are eating at your desk or offsite/in your car/picnic tables outside, etc

so for the most part nobody brings in food or extra ethnic foods..maybe chinese food or popeyes once a week..

when i think about it i dont think most of us even take lunches..

BUT i my cube mate is a socially awkward yt dude from southern va..and he heats up VEGAN steak patties smothers them with A1 and sits next to me and eats

lately ive been leaving aburtly every time he sits down, and i think thats a passive aggressive way to deal with it..so what would you do?

Thoughts on this?

I think that's ignorant. We live in AMERICA, B. The melting pot of cultures. If ****** wanna eat some wild **** at their desks, let em rock. Who is he to tell me I can't have my curry goat in the office? **** outta here, pa.

am i missing something? does vegan steak patties smell bad or something?

It's called common courtesy

Dude in my old office used to heat up some stinky *** microwaveable spicy burrito type joints :x

Told him to take that **** to the break room  He obliged.

Im the type to eat chicken salad, fruits, nuts, etc in the office. I'll save the tuna for the crib

Its an unspoken rule in our office to NEVER use the microwave to heat up fish or seafood in general. Bring that in fresh or not at all. Stinks up the entire office floor :x

Heating up fish in the microwave ? Hell nah

Not trying to smell like a fish market talking to a client

i think we have a few 'do not microwave fish' signs near our microwave

that's really the biggest one that upsets people

This is how I feel 500%

Wtf ??? Reason why I stay working in the field. If I'm hungry I'd microwave whatever the fuh I want. But I do get the common courtesy part.

I can see how being in that confined space may make it worse since the smell has nowhere to travel. At the same time, I wouldn't be eating outside or in my car when I can sit at my desk, eat, and get my work done. Only thing I can suggest is running a fan or air purifier or something.

You say that, until someone sits down next to you with some fish heads.

Im cool with it, I can tolerate a couple minutes of stank, but i do think there are certain food that one should be careful with(e.g.: Fish).

Never got why people wanna be aholes about this. Let that man eat whatever. So what it's not a smell you're used to, it's food, not ****.

glad i have some office space & this isnt a issue..cuz my boss is vegan(40+yrs) & makes some of the wierdest smelling stuff around

I heated up fish once and the boss looked at me crazy . If I ever do that again I'm booking the break room and going straight to my car.

Vegan is ******* disgusting. These people need to get a grip and realize that their food ******* smells. It drives me nuts to see this type of **** around. It a major bummer when I meet a good looking girl and find out she's vegan.

I don't even bother anymore them. i just move on to the next one

I'm gonna start off by saying I love all people and cultures....BUT......

The other half of the floor I work is IT and strategy, and about half of the people in those departments are Indian....again, I love everybody, but I swear them dudes heat up some of the FOULEST smelling food on the planet earth.

Last week somebody microwaved something that smelled like hairy, sweaty, after the club vagina mixed with rotten cabbage :x I literally opened the door into the kitchen and said "what the ****?"

There needs to be a whole session on food you shouldn't warm up in the office.
