Houston Rockets Thread - Preseason vs Spurs (Friday)

And now no K-Pap. Jesus, down 5 guys tonight. This probably means Capela gets more time, which I actually hope. Behind that this is a back to back for both teams, at least the actual matchup should be somewhat even. But the Suns overall have younger legs. I'm curious to how Terry and Ariza play/ Let's get it RedNation :smokin

A mostly wire to wire win against a young upcoming team in which we won with even more injuries....and yet the Warriors are getting their nuts road harder than Justin Slayer and James Deen. How fitting. Fantastic comeback by Bev, Just like McHale said, the Rockets def don't win that game without him.

- Led from wire to wire
- Had minor scare when led was cut to 5
- Harden gave his all, ran on fumes to minor back injury
- DMo, Ariza and Terry lead the way
- Garcia injured but no one noticed

These next three days of rest wil be clutch for this team.

D-mo is finally flourishing 8)

But we really can't sustain this level of play with out Dwight and T Jones. I read a report by Marc J. Spears that Dwight went through a tough workout on Sunday so we'll see what his status is for Wednesday.

Well it looks like we have Harden tonight....hopefully he can lead the team again, cause we're gonna need every single point, steal, block, and rebound tonight with Howard, Canaan, TJones, Garcia and K-Pap out.

:x :x the amount of available bodies

Looks like the amount of bodies caught us to eastwards the end of the end. This game went pretty much like the last. Not too mad at this loss based on circumstance, but this is another one of those times where you had it in your grasp and let it go, which sucks. No Dwight, TJones, Canaan, Garcia, nor K-Pap, and you were pretty much in until late. Harden did all he could, but the scarce bench didn't help. 5 points from 5 guys, and no type of impact from Jason Terry. Didn't have that rim protection late, and things just fell apart at the end. Kings tomorrow, and I'm not feeling the back to back even against them. Can't lose that regardless. Maybe we'll see Capela and Daniels more, idk, remember who our coach is.

Capela has no business seeing the floor. He isn't a basketball player, he's still just a raw athlete. McHale won't play Daniels because Daniels doesn't defend, although I don't think he's a slouch, and he can't do anything but shoot. Can't put the ball on the floor or hasn't shown the ability to.

Was too damn tired to update last night, but what a comeback win. Things seemed like they were dead in the water, and once again, defense and Harden's will brought the game home. I would've been livid had that Rudy Gay jumper in regulation gone down. These guys just continued to battle and battle, and that'll be so beneficial down the road once all these guys are healthy. D-Mo continuing to flourish almost brings a tear to my eye. He's been playing like we all thought he should have been for a good amount of games now, and I really want to see how he's used once TJones, and Howard for that matter get back. I loathed Terry and Ariza's shooting woes, but they picked up when they needed to. Daniels FINALLY coming in was good to see as well, and knowing McHale, that was purely out of desperation and it paid off. Dorsey had no points, but outside that laughable travel and missed FTs early, he was very solid and active on the boards. Both him and Black (well actually, the team in general) need to find a way to secure those rebounds the first time around, instead of letting other teams get so many second chance points.Pat Bev with da quiet double double :smokin Seeing him make Rudy Gay get so in his feels was great

pretty crazy how harden single handedy took over. i know i'm biased, but he's the mvp of the season so far imo. first in the league in defensive win shares and 4th in offensive win shares. also leads the league in scoring.

dwight hopefully comes back tonight. really hoping we start getting healthy. worried about tjones, because i haven't been hearing much about him, but dmo's been playing a lot and gaining experience so hopefully he'll have the confidence we want him to have and can give us some solid bench production when it's needed.

Yea man, I don't like the fact that there's no type of update on TJones what-so ever. Not good at all.

Dorsey with a -20 tonight and Terry with a -10 lol

I'm pretty sure Lin morphed into Terry's body.

I didn't even realize Dorsey was a -20 just cause he was so active on the boards  It's crazy how much he [physically] looks like Howard.

As far as the game goes, didn't like the start, way to sluggish, but the finish couldn't have been any better. Howard looked like he didn't miss a beat (including missed FTs), Harden was Harden, and D-Mo taking it up another level than he already has. Ariza is playing minutes at a Jimmy Butler rate :x  I hope his shooting % picks up soon, cause some of his shots are pure agony. The same with Terry. Both are hitting clutch shots, but some consistency is needed.
